I know stocksy is just out of the gates but it will be interesting to see this (hopefully) grow over time.

Right now I'm at a (monthly) RPI of 0 :)

Anyone else care to share.  I know some people are gathering a few sales... is it substantial? drops in the ocean??

A bit soon, don't you think?

Yeah, it is a bit soon.  I'm still curious how many sales people are getting - all things considered.

To be honest, perhaps I was hoping that Sean would spill his numbers :)  He has invested a lot of images in Stocksy and said he was getting a coupe of sales a day.  I was curious what sort of RPI that worked out to be.

I'm still having a hard time deciding which images to sift over to Stocksy and it is a tough decision how much to invest in it.  Should I put the latest shoot entirely on Stocksy and risk loosing $X because of it or should I just go with what I know and send the images to where I know I'll make money.  I'll probably do a bit of both but if Stocksy starts returning a reasonable RPI I'd be happy to send entire shoots their way.

Since Stocksy is image (and series) exclusive it limits a bit what can be sent where and makes it a bit harder to test the waters.

3 sales so far. Total $42.50.

If momentum gathers, which is happening - it won't take many sales to outstrip iStock earnings - RPD is much higher. Personally I'm encouraged and will be uploading a lot more and marketing them as much as I can.

I would give them at least a year. I have a hard time to understand what are you fearing to loose the pictures are always yours if it doesn't work out like you had hoped you can delete your port and upload elsewhere, personally I will produce a lot stuff for Stocksy in the ciming weeks.

Yes, to be fair at least a year (or two) is needed to see how growth develops.  What I fear loosing.. simply lost income potential if I had put those images on sites that I know will sell.

ok 1) it's "losing"

2) that is indeed the dilemma

Yesterday I shot some seafood quiche that is "very stocksy". I love the images, but they could sit there and never sell. they could be accepted at SS and then earn me a whole 75c.

It's probably worth the gamble for the growth potential if it takes off. Besides, you can always upload those images later to whatever agency if it doesn't work out and they'll still be new there.

RPD is close to 20 dollars.  Downloads still in the double digits though.  Hopefully we'll see some more motion in the coming weeks...

Daily double digits? Or for the month?

Daily, I wish.  If it was daily, I'd be pretty excited.

Hey Sean, if I'm not overstepping, did your experience change since you last updated here?
If there's anybody else who's willing to share some info I'd be grateful as well

Probably average 2-3 a day now.

I'm still at 0. Yes, it's still early in the game. Yes, my portfolio is still small and some of the images are very special/low-demand. And yes, I had problems adapting my shooting & processing to get better acceptance.

But then again it's three months now, and it's likely not to get busy for the next two months of summer breaks. So I'm getting a bit anxious these days. I hope the fall season will bring us all enough sales to continue supporting that great co-op concept.

It's not about loosing pictures, it's about loosing (wasting) time. You don't ever get that back.

OT and I didn't see the item on BBC World late last night/early this am but there was an item about Stocksy and their paying out 50% to contributors. No more info sorry.
