This doesn't make any sense to me. I uploaded too many similar images, yet they've deleted them all? Why not pick the better ones or the ones they like. Thats pretty dumb on their part...because I'm just gonna upload them 2 at a time now...or 1 at a time and they probably will accept them anyways
Any comments on this
-
Well, why don't you pick only a few of your best ones. The point isn't to beat the system but to try and give them what they want. They probably don't want to have to pick the best ones because it takes to much time and the photographer will probably disagree on which ones are the best. So they are probably trying to send a message to try and get you to pick the best ones only. I think it is a reasonable request. When a buyer is looking for an image and he gets 50 images of something he doesn't need of the same thing in slightly different composers it begins to turn him off. It makes searching for the right image much harder. Microstocks aren't trying to be mean they are trying to keep the buyers and dont' want them to get annoyed with their site. Alamy struggles with this to.

If you have lots of similar images why not upload what you think are your best. If they sell, then upload some more.
How many are we talking abut here in the "series"? 5, 10, 20, 50??
-
We're talking about 5 lol...I'm not insane and I wouldn't upload 20 of the same picture at a different angle...thats a waste of time especially since if they dont' like one, they won't like most of them most likely.
I thought they were different enough, but I will upload 1 or 2, then see how those go...I have 1 more that I didn't upload but I think is very good because of how the clouds line up (these are lake shots in cottage country) and I'm just experimenting with the curves to bring out the blue in the sky....
But I'll take your suggestion...doesn't hurt I guess....Shutterstock rejection/acceptance should be coming soon....wish me luck
Also, ironically, after 1 day that I said my downloads are a bit slower, I got another download at StockXpert.....weird

It is fuzzy of course on how many similiar images are too many. 4 or 5 shots at different composers is no big deal. So yes I think it is a little nit picky. At Alamy they had no similiar policies so they would literally get 50 images that were very similar. It was silly and I'm sure it was starting to turn off buyers so they had to implement a new rule to try and limit it.

I agree...50 shots is ridiculous. But 5? Come on! :-[ I'll get by though. Its not gonna kill me especially since their reviews are so quick. So when I get home tonight, definitely gonna get one or two uploaded
-
Maybe it's just bad wording for 'we have too many of these'?
-
There are those who purport that one should always spread one's similar shots out over several uploads anyway, to avoid encouraging the inspector to cherry pick.
-
I have had similar rejections there but only after about 5 images I think. I seldom have more than 5 images of the same subject anyway. I have the impression that 5-8 are the limit in most sites, but anyway removing ALL submissions is weird.

This is ridiculous. I resubmitted 2 I thought were good, yet they were still "too many similar images"
-
it could be that they have too many of that type of image on the site allready, or your shot is too similar to ones that they have accepted allready.
-
You can't take these rejections to heart - I've just had some ridiculous rejections on StockXpert (beautiful picture of a boat on the Mekong River in Cambodia - reason: Subject Too Small) but I just delete the file and get back to what I was doing. If they don't want the picture that is their choice but I wouldn't lose sleep over it or any other rejections.
-
they haven't accepted any....they are all too similar but yet they just don't want to pick even one of 2? Thats just being lazy
-
ichiro,
They're probably referring to many similar images at the site, nit yours. Check with a search.

Adelaide,
It says exactly "sorry YOU uploaded too many similar images"....I uploaded 1 image, just one...something they've never seen before and it was too many similar images....in my opinion thats BS...I don't know if they are blind or they can't express their reasoning well, but "too many similar images" means to me that there's at least 2. Thats getting on my nerves now.

ichiro,
You should email them. I can't say they are the best site to reply, but maybe they can see it's a misunderstanding.

I did e-mail them. They replied same day. Their reply was also BS saying the usual "its not you its me" nonsense. I don't even think they looked at my account
