As you may know StockXpert sells eps files but the minimum price is actually $1 not $5 so if the reviewers consider the vector is simplistic it will get the $1 bargain price tag.
So if you are designer with photoshop you see an image you like you can pay $5 for a 9 mp jpeg or just $1 for the eps (which you can resize to any size) whatcha gonna do?
It has happened to me a few times unfortunately once an eps file is submitted the only way to disable it is to delete the file and resubmit just the JPEG.
Rather frustrating when you can earn $4 at DT for an eps file download.

that kinda defects the purpose of uploading vector file...
but in DT, my eps files hardly get downloaded, perhaps cos
its $4 as compared to $2 for a hi-res jpg file? so it will appeal
only to designers who want super large size or want to amend
the vector file.

Yes, but DT also allows a vector file to be downloaded via subscription, which will give you a whole 0.25 royalty! IMHO, that is a LOT worse than the $1 at StockXpert.

For non exclusives istock isn't such a great deal, vectors sell for $5 (so your cut would be 95c - $1.20) but at least its that amount every time no 25c or 50c sales for subscription or web sized images.
obviously if its a highly complex illustration that is selling for 10 credits then the returns are more
Regarding subscription sales I prefer a 25c from a subscription than 50c from a random person as the subscriber could be a repeat customer. I actually find at the moment that the $4 and $2 far outnumber the 25c eps sales at DT. I suspect that designers want the eps file to adapt the illustration. Though I do get a lot of web sized downloads of illustrations
