Hello everyone,

My name is George and I am a contributer to Stockxpert, with 1890 photos.

In the last 5 days I could not log into my account at Stockxpert. When I put my e-mail in to retrieve the password, the page tells me that my account has been canceled.

Writing to on-line form on Stockxpert or JupiterImages did not yield any results.

Naturally, I would not want to loose an account with nearly 2000 photos, and some per month income.

Does anyone have any advice?

Hi George,

Do you have any idea why your account might have been closed? What is you name in StockXpert?

hi there,
you're still able to contact support are you? if not, one of us could do that for you, but i think contact support is available to you still.

try that, giving as much info of your account to them. let us know the outcome. good luck!

That's so weird, and without a warning or notice...I only looked at the first page, but you have some really nice photos there George ???

george, the only possible reason is that you contravened one of the agreements.
-such as :  improper ID; images you don't owned; or misled the site in some form.
other than that, i really don't know what would make them do it.
what dya think , m@m, madelaide, ?
this is just hypothesis, since only StockXpert knows

No that shouldn't be the case as his port is still available. My guess is it's a short-term cock-up which, assuming everything is in order should be resolved soon.

good point gostwyck.
even when we delete an image,  although it still onsite for 24 hours, it will show "not available" when we click on that image .

Perseus, those are the same reasons I would think could make StockXpert do that, but then again, after the Getty transaction, allot of strange things are happening inside StockXpert's world  :-\
Edited: you guys type too fast for me...LOL...a very good point gostwyck

he has some outstanding images, doesn't he?
my only other shot in the dark is IP (Intellectual Property) infringement, no releases. not all of them, but some on the first page , i could see it coming.
but just guessing.  maybe they close the account for too many IP infringement.
But then again georgeburba, as i said, JUST GUESSING.

let's stop here, i hate to drive you nuts and get you into a drunken binge  ;D

just be patient and wait for their email.  meanwhile, go submit your images elsewhere,
there are impressive. congrats.

Very attractive images indeed.

Did we have such issues in StockXpert before?

- If he had images that belonged to others, I guess his portfolio would have been deleted.
- If he had images with missing releases or other copyright issues, these images would have been deactivated and he might probably have received a site mail (no use if he can't log in!), like some of us have recently.

George,
I noticed you are very new at StockXpert, just a little longer than a month.  I wonder if there may be any issue about this.

StockXpert doesn't have exclusivisty, does it?

Regards,
Adelaide

StockXpert is making me very nervous.  I'm new there too and thought I had found a good thing.  Then the istock/Getty hullabaloo.  Just the last week or two, they have seemed very NON responsive?

What happens to all the images if they go bellyup?

No, there is no exclusivity at StockXpert, I've being a contributor there for a year or so, and never seeing anything like this, whatever it is that is going on there also has me kind of nervous, specially the amount of different threads on this forum about them, and none on a positive note.

The same that happens in any other website.  But perhaps, since there is a big corporation behind them, we will feel more confident that nobody will be selling them in CDs....

Looking at your portfolio.... Doesn't look like one of a thief. Great work.
I would like to know the reason why they closed your account.
Are you sure you didn't do something wrong?

Hello everyone,

Thank you very much for great response, kindness and ideas! I gather that no one else seem to experience the same thing I did, so it must not be a site-wide bug.

I would assume if such a serious suspicions as  stolen images, or IP rights infridgements were at stake, they StockXpert would have contacted me for clarifications.

There are about 2000-2500 travel/science photos I have at SS, DT, 123 RF, CanStock, etc. and several hundreds at other stocks, and I have never run into such issues.

So far, I wrote twice to StockXpert, once to JI, and did not get any response in 5 days. And just now I sent two e-mails to Getty itself.

When something would become clear, I certainly will inform this forum.

Thanks again and have a good night :)

Have you tried the StockXpert forum?  Are you sure you used the correct email to retrieve your account details?

Perhaps someone has hacked your email account and changed the email address with StockXpert.  That has happened to a few people in the past on some sites and might explain why StockXpert hasn't got back to you.

As he can not log in, he can't access the forum.

Stolen password, that makes sense.  Had he done anything wrong, I guess we would not be seeing his images (we can even buy them).

George, why don't you call them on the phone? On this page you will find phone numbers of JU in several countries:
http://www.jupiterimages.com/contactUs.aspx
I don't know where are you from, but I hope you speak well some of these languages. If they don't know the answer, ask for Tel.No of StockXpert.

Try opening a new account just to reach support.  I agree, it sounds like your account's been hacked.  The lack of security on most of these microstock sites, excluding SS & IS, is shameful.  Hopefully you didn't have much money accrued.

makes sense, sharpshot.
not only is this thread by george unfortunate, but could be useful for ourselves too on prevention.
all the points are valid too, since your account is still live.  please keep us informed, and wish you success in resolving this.
Hopefully you didn't have much money accrued.
yes, that especially.

my only incident related to this, is once almost a year ago, i requested to have my account deleted,
even submitting complete details . and i insisted on a verification .  the person in contact replied mentioning "here are the details pending deletion". to my horror, it was someone else's account.
i quickly wrote back to tell them.

it was scary, on the other person's case,  considering I gave complete description and tag# to each and every one of the said account so as to avoid such a mistake.
this could have well been such an error. EXCEPT that your account is still live,
so, it HAS TO BE something remote.

the StockXpert mystery continues..  ???
