Guys,

I'm putting together a list of UI enhancements that contributors have asked for in the past. Please let me know if there are any you would like to see on the contributor side of things. Need suggestions by tomorrow.

Thanks!
-Steve

For the most part, I think the interface is fine. I've never been sure what 'My Images' is as opposed to 'My Gallery.'  Some things automatically end up in 'My Images' and other don't - never understood how or why that works.

The upload/briefcase operation took some getting used to when I started there, but don't have a problem with it, uploading is fast and easy. I like the no categories.

The home page 'account.phtml' is fine. Most everyting I need in one place or a click away. Maybe move the folders tab to this page, instead of under My Images.

Other than that, just get the review cue straightened out - the interface is a good one. Fast and clean

It's great.  Please don't fix what ain't broke.

My only observation is that buying customers may prefer a better zoom facility.

Releases... An ability to attach more than one model release, rather than having to stitch them together.

Am I out of line here?  What is UI?

Thanks!

You are not out of line. :)

I think an MR improvement is almost complete. Need to look into that.

UI = User Interface

All is good for me but I'll second/third the model release request.

Steve,

Folders are very useful and I organize my images in them because it makes management so much easier, but I wished I could see stats for all images together - I have to visit each folder to see them.  One thig i never checked: are they viewable to users, or only lightboxes are?

Ah, and if you let us have some info aboutthe buyer, like FT does, it would be great, because this way I was able to trace some of my images in use!

Another thing - I'm not sure it's what you're asking, but maybe you can forward it to the people in charge - is some problems with translations between the language options.  When I see my images in portuguese, there are some horrible translations, and even in keywords that do not have so many meanings.  "Easter" and "Christmas" for instance aren't translated into portuguese (though they are into Spanish and German). If you look for "Pscoa" (Easter) nothing come up, and for "Natal" images are not Christmas-related (some are related to birth and pregnancy, and to some extent the word "natal" is related to that).

Adelaide

Thanks!

Almost positive folders are not viewable to users.

Does FT provide the info or is there an optional form for the buyer to fill out that goes right to you?

Thanks for bringing the translation issue to our attention.  I'll forward this on.

and I don't see why this info shoudl be kept secret,ı think all sites should allow the author to see where their work is going and I don't see a reason why buyers should mind if we got the info.
so I agree I think this could be nice additon to the UI
and once again thanx for askin our opinnon Steve

They don't give this information always, sometimes it's just the buyer's name or even a nickname.  But often there is a company name.

Steve,

Another thing that occurred to me: the zoom tool only lets us see the center of the image, and often that is not the main part of it, so it woul be good if we could either click on a specific area we want to see, or be able to pan the zoomed area.

Adelaide

Steve, thanks for asking us.

Although my request is not regarding the UI, I still would like to use the occasion:
Please tell your cookie programmers to stop logging me out every hour or two. I am online all day and want to login to a site only once per day! Like on iStock, Bigstock...

Although I stopped uploading in September (for obvious reasons, recently discussed here and in many other forums), I still very much enjoy to see how well my older files are doing on your site! So, StockXpert cookie/session programmers: please let me decide myself, when I wish to log out!

Again, thanks for asking us, Steve! You are doing a great job here!

With another site, the buyer sometimes leaves a comment to say what the image is being used for.  I can then see it in action, if they are using it on a website.  That is useful.

I'll second this...it always nice to get comments from the user and they sometimes tell us where it is used. The site I get the most comments and feedback from is DT...something like that would be great.

It would also be really nice if you could make your thumbnails views larger...sometimes...actually many times it is really hard to see the quality of a photo with the current thumbs. I think it would help on DL's ...if a buyer is confident on the quality...they are more likely to download it..... FT probably has the best veiw for that now...with a wonderful zoom...

I'll second the requests for not logging us out and multiple model releases. Even if I leave up the same tab all day, StockXpert keeps requiring a log in. FT (who also used to log you out frequently) allowed a check box - "Remember me" - so those who want to be logged out can keep the old behavior.

I'd also like to see small thumbnails of images in the sales list so I don't have to click on the link to see which of a series sold. I'd also prefer it if the sales list was one long one in reverse chronological order, rather than broken up by day.

When you're batch editing newly uploaded images, there's a glitch that I wish they could fix. If you thought you clicked in a checkbox, but somehow just missed the square and didn't notice it, when you click the Submit button you get a message that nothing was selected and it clears all the information you entered so you have to do it over again. Please either save the info or warn me that nothing is checked when I start to click the categories or MR UI.

I agree whit the remember me option. It's a little bit stressing not having that. If you could improve the review time ( I know this is not what we talk about ) it will be hot. I have files of alcohol drinks and Christmas gifts uploaded around half september and still waiting... Unless these, it's great.

Better zoom feature and what ever info the purchaser is willing to give on downloads (respecting their privacy too)

Other than that ... I am thrilled that StockXpert is willing to listen - the cream floats to the top!
