Yesterday I uploaded a picture of a candle, which was approved - the whole series was.  I was very pleased.

There is an edit for each picture, as an option to replace the picture for an improved version.  I thought that I would use it this morning.  The only thing I changed is one small part of the isolation, to refine it further.

Well, I got the result:  "please upload better quality images"...

I emailed the site about it, still no answer.

I hope that in these kind of circumstances there would be an option to keep the previous approved version, even though it is of a slightly lesser quality.  Anyway, it does not inspire me to use this edit function in the future...

Mistakes are made, but it is sometimes frustrating.

Their review is horrible...I just accept it and move on, especially when SS accepts something or even IS and they don't...its pretty sad at that point

There's no rhyme or reason at StockXpert for me when it comes to rejections.

Update:  The picture is online now, but I want to make sure that the revised version doesn't have something wrong with it.  So if needed I will re-upload a new version, or the previous one if it is thought that it is a better quality.

I was mentioning this situation here mostly to let the photographers know that using the 'upload a better version' once a picture is approved automatically replaces and deletes the former version, and doesn't guarantee an approval.

The new review makes sense in a way, but I wish that there would be an option for keeping the former approved version in case a reviewer decides not to approve the revised version.

IMO, it doesn't make much sense to have to go through the whole inspection process for an image that was already approved.  All that should be done is make to sure that the image is basically still the same (and not a totally different image), which should take a reviewer a few seconds.

Most people seem to be ignoring the ability to update their photos om StockXpert for the reason that many have stated: people have tried to update a photo with a larger or better quality image and both images were rejected.  This does not instill confidence in the process.

Why would I want to take the chance of having one of my images rejected that is already online and possibly selling?

StockXpert/Steve-Oh: This process is flawed.  Nobody wants to use it because of the possible consequences.  It needs to be fixed.  You shouldn't be rejecting images when a submitter is trying to upload a better version.  After all, we are submitters are just trying to help buyers out (by giving them better quality).  Our images are already online.  If you want to reject images, then do it through a "spring cleaning" process.

Thanks for input on this. Intention is good, but we need to rethink the execution/process of this feature. I have brought this to the attention of the team and we are going to discuss further.
