StockXpert rejected me for the second time, this time with : Photos do not meet quality standards for stock

I was accepted at the other sites like Shutterstock and istock with the first try. So what is so different on Stockxpert?

So I'm wondering what is normal at Stockxpert.

It was first try for me. My only failure so far is for istock illustrations.

It took me 6 times over the past 10 months, like your experience, after being accepted by the others. I finally got accepted with 4 isolated food shots and 1 architecture shot.

Quality standards have probably increase, because Shutterstock was way harder to get in for me!

I was rejected ones (too many landscape shots) and then I did not try for a year.

Then I made sure that the 5 images I submitted were different (no 5 shots of the same subject).

Now I have only 24 images online and they already made me over $13 in few week so it is worth it to be there.

So I would try again and keep trying.

I got in on the first try.....
But now they reject everything

To me the site seems pretty unpredictable in everything ~ payouts, security, rejections, support and answering the concerns of their contributors on the forums. But I do make a little
$$ from them every month so I guess I'll stick in there. Good luck & don't take it too hard.

Glaudia as Becky says things are rather strange over there right now with talk of rejections of work which has been accepted elsewhere on mass this is why I am not bothering to upload right now yet they are worth the effort for sure ......

I have a small amount of Images there, just over a Hundred and they are bringing in a nice little sum in fact they are doing better than Dreamstime for me where my portfolio is three times the size.

Leave it a little while have a break ... smell the flowers

then have another go!

StockXpert seems not to like scenics, landscapes or nature pictures much. This is even when they are of specific recognizable cities (i.e. not a generic sunset), something I've found has sold reasonably well elsewhere.

Not sure what you submitted, but looking at your portfolio elsewhere, I'd suggest you drop the rhino/giraffe/zebra/lion shots from your approval submissions and do the people shots, isolated objects, food/desert shots.

I think I did this to be accepted on Stockxpert. I picked the images I wanted to upload for my initial submission then I searched the Stockxpert site for similar images. When I submitted my image I pointed out the file number for a similar image already available on the Stockxpert site and asked them which was better. I did this for each image I submitted, they accepted my images rather quickly. By the way all the images Stockxpert has accepted from me have been landscapes, that's all I shoot.

I was accepted about a week ago on my first attempt, I was a little worried after reading the posts about rejections being all over the place. Now to see if they will accept my app. photos for real!

I know that I have only a small portfolio (still getting my feet wet

) but hopefully I will get better sales than I do with the others.

My case was different. I just try stockXpert after i was in all other sites (SS, Is, DT, CS, SV, Albumo, FT, Alamy, 123RF, and so on). The reason was that my work was not stock! I upload 2 photos and 3 vectors!
After i get rejected and very mad i send them one email were i explain my frustration and the links to all my other sites were they consider my work as stock and that in fact i sell that kind of work. They ask me to upload again with same stuff different from what i have already upload to the other sites. I get in and in 3 months make 75$. Not bad for "not stock work"

I finally got accepted at the third try with StockXpert. I waited a couple of months because I thought they wouldn't accept me. But it worked this time

To answer the question, first time at bat with StockXpert... The only site I didn't get in on first shot was SS which took me 3 or 4 times(i forget). Some have mentioned them being tougher now.... yeah, I believe that is generally the case across the board (except for the budding new sites out there).
Like someone had mentioned above... I too do a lot of landscape and StockXpert is taking and selling them. I have had numerous "not stock material" rejections from StockXpert, but I don't see a pattern in it.
I think you can only place very very general flags on all of them as to what you can be guaranteed will be accepted and gauranteed not. I've seen too many contradictions. Some of the work the folks here at MSG have shown as examples can make you wonder what the heck the reviewer was thinking. Pix I'm selling like crazy on IS or SS being rejected by non-top 5 agencies.. Many times it makes no sense.
I really believe the vast majority of it is all in the person sitting the review desk that day and what mood they're in. [unless a pic is obviously crap]. LOL

One more point. Just because it was rejected today, doesn't mean it won't be accepted next week. I can personally swear to that. LOL That just blows my mind. It wasn't stock material today but it will be in a couple weeks .... go figure. I take all rejection now with a grain of salt.

It is funny to see how differently various sites work for different people. I am not quite sure if StockXpert accepted me on the first or the second attempt (but it happened rather quickly) - and I find it to be a very consistent site in regard to accepting images and sales. Sure, odd rejections happen - but I have learned to have a second (much more critical) look at the rejected images - and (surprise surprise) - I always find something which I overlooked the first time around.

I made it into StockXpert on 2nd attempt. However, everything happens very slowly there. I've also heard that "batch" rejections are quite common there so please have tough skin

Well 0 for 2 there, whereas got in on the first try at SS and had to reupload one after removing a touch of fringing that I missed (no other site caught it) at IS, approved 2 hours after the rejection notice though.

First try I submitted only shots that were approved at both FT and DT...no go.

Second try I submitted only shots that were each approved at SS, IS and DT, and had each earned more than $5 in the last month...no go.

Of course all they say is they aren't looking for this type of work right now.

My submission included:
1 Isolation
1 Conceptual
1 Object studio shot (not isolated)
1 Architecture
1 Airplane (my hands down across the board bestseller)

Accepted at first try... lucky me... but...

I'm training someone in my own studio, guiding her, looking over her pictures before submitting, already refused 3 time....!!!

I see no logic, especially considering she has been accepted at SS at first try and already selling well with a very moderate small port.

Same here, made around 80$ in the first month on SS, got rejected at stockxpert. I wonder if I would have more luck if I submit vector?

I am relatively new at this and a little frustrated with StockXpert as well. I was accepted my first shot at SS, IS, LO etc. I applied to StockXpert and it took them 5 weeks to get back to me.....said they needed 'more information' to reach a decision (I dunno..is that the same as not being accepted..I guess in retrospect)...they didn't ask for any specific type of submission but just said to upload 5 more (that was after I contacted them at week 4 to ask what was up as I was wondering if they somehow lost the application). So that very same day (Feb 28th) I uploaded 5 more and haven't heard back since. I sent them 2 e-mails from their website asking if there was a problem but no response at all....it has been 38 days since my second application. Have others had this sort of problem and delay? Any recommendations?

For me StockXpert was the hardest to get into, taking me around four months while I got into SS on the first go. Not sure if StockXpert is really worth the effort either in term of sales compared to sites like SS, IS, DT, 123RF and even Fotolia...

i am a newbie, and i want to thank all of you who participated in this forum with microstock.
the reason why i write here in Goodlives thread is because
i was accepted for the first two big 6 i joined .
2 acceptance both on the first try, then
after that i got 22 rejections in one shot ...
and every one had the same guy telling me they are all snapshots.

but my first two were the same style.

so i was about to crap all this things as garbage and go back to my freelance photography work.
then i read what you ppl are saying here to Goodlives.

so i guess it's one or the other. acceptance first crap the rest later
or crapped out first and then acceptance later.

but this is an eye opener for sure!
i will stick it out because of all you ppl's advice here to Goodlives.

Just submitted 5 new pictures today. Tried with 4 illustrations (jpg cos you can't submit .eps in the application) and a recent image that has been accepted across other sites.

They have long review times right (a week or so)?
