Hello,
I hope somebody can help here, how to add map/information release as TEXT file ?
In the release manager, you can only upload JPEG files as releases.
For previous files, I did a print screen of the text, and send it as jpeg, but they refuse it now.
They want absolutely this information as text, and I didn't find how to send them a text file.
Help!

That sounds very strange!
a .TXT file can't show any handwritten signatures, witch is required in all cases.

Most agencies accepts the scanned release, saved as PDF, and some agencies, including StockXpert normally accepts the scanned release form, saved as JPG.

Are you sure that they ask for a TXT file? - I could imagine that they are rejecting it due to the content, not asking for a txt file...

I'd like to help, but you are not describing your situation clearly enough, and I do not know what it is that you must upload to them. Perhaps things would be clearer if you post what they used to accept, but no longer do.

On istock, they just ask that the information be included as part of the description. Are you certain that StockXpert is not asking the same thing?

Here is the message on StockXpert :
image rejected by admin_crew (reason: Missing required: map information/release uploded as a TEXT FILE (as requested 3 days ago). Please upload it again with all information required. Thank you very much.

It is an illustration with a world map traced in illustrator from a public domain source.
In that case they need information about the source being public domain.
I tried by putting the informations in the description, but they really want the text file, and I really don't know how/where I can upload it.

Missing a Property release. Every map/globe must to be uploaded with a valid copyright info with links both to a source image/map and link to map license. Please note that you have 3 days after uploading to finish that process. Thank you very much

So did you upload a JPEG with the print screen of the required release information, but they're refusing it? Check if you have assigned the right file.  If so, I'd write support.

Adelaide

Thanks Adelaide, I checked and assigned the print screen, but they want a TEXT FILE...
(I think they want to visit the links by copying and pasting the url instead of having to retype those of the jpeg file.)

I wrote to support, but I was hoping a more quickly answer here ;)

Tilo,

Given the message "map information/release uploded as a TEXT FILE", it looks like they say your file is a text file (the file you have already uploaded).  As I don't know what is in your file, maybe you should upload a printscreen of the website that contains the release info they want.  Just a thought.

Adelaide

"Missing required: map information/release uploaded as a TEXT FILE"
I think they are saying that it is required and missing...

Btw, I think that only a person who already uploaded at StockXpert an illustration based on a traced map can help.
Thanks for trying, I will wait for their answer.

Don't do maps or releases, but should this be a case where you need to make a file from a text file and save it so you can upload that file, here are two.

PDF995 free pdf maker which installs as a printer. When you print the text file, to the PDF995 Printer, it makes it into a PDF. Free, if you don't mind the pop up ads, otherwise only $9.95

http://www.pdf995.com/

Screen snapshot software (FREE) You can capture whatever is on your monitor or desktop screen to a JPG, and some other formats, or just print it. So if you are in Word, you can also capture the text file, but I don't know why anyone would want to?

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Capture/MWSnap.shtml

Neither of these are demo software that cripples you files or goes dead after 30 days, or that prints ads on your final files. This is true shareware and fully functional.

I don't understand why they would want a text file release for a map and jpg for everything else. Hopefully I'll read the answer when someone gets an answer from support.
