I am turned in between reopening an account with StockXpert or just sticking with my original idea to stay away from them. After some time already passed and I have some extra time on my hands I suddenly get all soft and started to doubt my original decision.

To explain just few things, I used to (last year) have an account with StockXpert and was lucky enough to have a response to one of my emails about some stupid rejection. Well, better I was not lucky to receive that email; it was out of the blue rude response to my very polite simple question. And no, I didnt go haywire. I took one day to think about it, and then send a request to close my account.

So, now I am thinking, what if I overreacted This person may have had a bad day; we all have bad days. And business is business, should be nothing personal.

Am I wrong?

I appreciate your situation - there's no need for rude responses, and I probably would have done the same thing.

Was the original reply signed by anyone in particular? I'd be surprised if it was someone high up, more likely an inspector having a bad day.

I definitely think you should re-open an account though, as StockXpert is a great site. Easy to navigate & upload, quick review times, generally good royalties....

Also, in all the correspondence I've had, they've been really nice (the inspector I seem to speak to most is called "Sunrise" and is definitely one of the nicest inspectors around and is always really polite).

I say give it another shot and start earning some more money!  ;D

I would advise you not to open an account. Because less competition for me, meaning more money in my pocket.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I would say give it another try. StockXpert is a good site and it has those XL sales of 5$ that I especially like, since I opted out from susbscription model.

Hi imageZebra,

I'm sorry that you had a negative contributor experience with StockXpert. That should not have happened, and I'm not sure why it happened. I can personally vouch for the entire team at StockXpert. If you or anyone ever has a specific or personal issue with StockXpert, please let me know about it, and I will handle it personally.

Thanks!
-Steve

Give it a go...whatever happened in the past is water under the bridge - and StockXpert is one of the better places to sell your pics.

All the sites mess up at some time or another, so short of really catastrophic problems, it's generally better to just try to address the problem and keep submitting and selling.

StockXpert is a strong seller (it's #4 this month for me as DT is back in the doldrums) and yes, those $5 or $7.50 commissions are very nice :)

good to know. i'm only in for 3 months but StockXpert has been fast in reviewing and acceptance of my images. also was the first one to get me 3 sales (little ones, but still sales) in the first month of publication.
So i would suggest you give StockXpert another shot, and forget the past bad day of that one reviewer (maybe that person is no longer there with StockXpert!). I like to think that there is always one bad apple .

Wow, such a loyal group of people to StockXpert, they must be doing something right.

designalldone youre right; it was one of the reviewers. And I am honestly glad I dont remember the name. Like leszek says, water under the bridge.

Hey Peter, I am coming and also bringing my friends with me. Well take all of your sales away.  ;D  ;)

Xalanx, I need to look in to it. Would be interesting to know if it is worth to stay with subscription or opt out.

Steve, youre a sweetheart.

jsnover, this is music to my ears. DT was always my good #3 seller, I am looking forward to a good relationship with StockXpert.

Yep, StockXpert is my #2 earner and my favorite agency to work with.

The inspector "Sunrise" is indeed always very helpful and helped me a lot with my first vector submissions.

Peter, I love your sense of humor. I am going to sign up with StockXpert today. My little collection may not be the most impressive, but I truly enjoy this fun thing called microstock.

Also, many thanks to everyone for taking time to answer my question. Really appreciated.

I also endorse the positive aspects of StockXpert. It's a good earner for me, Steve-oh has always been a point of contact between them an dus, and they let me opt out from subs (what I did only when they became too frequent).

Regards,
Adelaide

Good advice madelaide. Tank you.  :)

I thought there always must be a good balance between subs and regular sells. I guess if 4MP files (thats what I submit to SS) have sub sales, I am OK; but probably would have problem if my large files would sell for the same miniscule price.

Since microstock is always changing entity (arguably still at its infancy) I always expect adjustments to the market as it goes.
