Title: New at Stockxpert - best strategy
Post by: maco0708 on September 18, 2007, 14:36
Hi,

I have been going microstock for a year and I have been selling at IS,SS,FT,DT,BS.

I applied to Stockxpert a year ago and I was rejected so I didn't bother for a year. Then a week ago I applied again and now I am accepted.

So, I have about 300 photos that I would like to upload. What is the best strategy? Small batches (10 or so) or just use the 50 limit?
What is their current review time? Should I make each batch diverse (different type photos) or it doesn't matter.

I will appreciate all opinions.

At the moment StockXpert are trying to catch up with the long que of waiting uploads due to reviwer in hospital and vacations. According to a thread in their forum guys from Jupiter images are filling in, while they are training new reviewers. Seems to me they reject pretty much everything at the moment while taking care of the que so if I were you I would wait until they get their stuff together before upload anything.

I uploaded my portfolio there at 50 per day, but wish I'd have taken a more measured approach so that my stuff would be spread out instead of all lumped together. I don't know for sure if it would have made a difference in my sales, but I suspect it would have.

I regularly remove inactive images, and I'll (gradually) reload the ones that should sell when the time comes - for me that's when they've been online for 6 months with no DLs.

Hi
Mabe they are thinking how to proceed us to old fashioned farters on 35mm cameras.
Or they are holding us while they are been buyed by Getty?

Actually, that's not so daft as some peeps might think.....

I was just wondering this morning that the situation at StockXpert has been 'allowed' to go on for quite a long time; a surprising amount of time actually; it occured to me this morning that I would delay recruiting new people if I was involved in potential corporate action, such as buying a competitor.  We'll just have to wait and see.
