Seem to be working my way backwards at BS and FT.  I see that StockXpert accepts much smaller files than some.  Some of my old stuff might find a place there.  Any advice for a new Applicant?

I started there so long ago, I can't remember what I uploaded, the only thing I remember was that they "lost" my test submission and I had to re-upload them.  I guess the general rule applies: diversity and technical quality.

Thanks Adalaide.
My acceptance email was in the morning mail.  I'm reading now about uploading.  You mentioned lost images.  I submitted five but don't see any of them.  I guess I will have to resubmit?

Again, thanks for the input.  I'm off on a new adventure.   8)

i was jsut comming here to ask a question about StockXpert.

i read a lot of good things on here about them.

but i wonder is they lost my first 5 also, cause they asked for 5 more.

i also just got accepted today.

il ask my question here & post it as new a topic also.

i uploaded today my first 15 pics as soon as they hit the site they had a yellow dot. i assumed a yellow dot was pending.
i QUICKLY (under 1hr) got two green dots (approved) and one dot was kinda yellowish (pending?).

i accidentally ran my curser over the yellow dots & realised they were declined!

is this normal? can they be reviewed so fast that they hit the site as a yellow declined image???

i have a picture in my mind of a reviewer sitting in front of his computer screen waiting for me to upload my pics & he quickly declines them just as fast as i upload them.

Thanks, Mantonio.  There is nothing in the briefcase:
Your briefcase is empty.

It's no big deal.  They were especially for applicant evaluation was my understanding.  I'm still studying submission requirements before jumping in.  Never was much for reading instructions "before" doing anything.  I guess old dogs do learn new tricks.   ;)

Zin... I haven't gotten as far as you.  I did notice, however, that White is the color for pending images.  Yellow is rejected.  I'll let you know more after I submit a few images.

never more than 5 of the same image set. you will then begin to get "sorry we have enough of this type of images".but all in all, they are very good.
sometimes, review were super fast, like within the hour of submission. but  at slowest, by the end of the day.  if any rejects, when i correct what the reviewer say is the problem and resubmit, it gets approved right away too.

not sure what's changed but these past few weeks, reviews are slower and more rejections (used to be closed to 100% approval for me).
new reviewers? perharps. or my new images just stink with them  ;D

Thanks tan, all suggestions appreciated.
Zin... I just screwed up an upload.  Did you use FTP?  I sent 20 files via FTP and lost all of them.  It was my fault.  Finally realized that I uploaded to the Root folder instead of the Images folder.  Duh....

I emailed support.  Maybe they can fix it.

You can also move images from the Root folder to the Images folder using an FTP client.

Thanks, that worked.  I finally stumbled my way thru my first upload.  Still a little confused about "folders."  They are in my "Home" folder; is that the way it should be?  And ... the price shows as $0.00, or is that the amount that has been downloaded???

The upload process certainly made me feel stupid.  Hope to do better with the next one.

OH.... and the images are all already approved.  Is it always that fast?

Images submitted for evaluation of new contributors do not appear for sale after you are approved.  I guess the same happens in any site (I remember IS being like that when I applied 3 years ago).  You have to upload them again and they go through normal inspection (probably even another team).

They vary from close to instantly to a couple days.  I've been really happy with them; occasionally having stuff approved before I've even finished categorizing and model releaing things.  From what I understand they come back after 3 days or so and make sure that you got the categorizing and model releases squared away.  Not to mention the over 99% acceptance rate.  I've gotten used to those acceptance rates being on sites that have near to no sales.

Sales also have been good there, within 3 months they moved into the number #3 slot, ahead of dreamstime, behind IS and SS.  Lots of photos.com and jupiter subscription sales that add up and fill in the gaps between regular sales that are always nice to see in this industry (with their 50% commission rates).

yes, so long as you maintain an almost 100% acceptance, you can count on getting same day reviews .as i said earlier, i've had approvals within the hour, even.

No i did not use ftp. i wanted to keep it simple for now, so i uploaded from the site. fairly eazy &quick upload, except for the catagories, it applies the same cats for all five images uploaded & i then went in a changed them after they were there.

good luck
Nick

I'm still familiarizing with StockXpert.  I updated my profile and opted OUT of the subscription program.  I'm wondering if I made a mistake.  What options have others chosen?

Also, I can't think of any reason not to sell extended license.  Am I missing something?

Thanks,

WarrenPrice

Things certainly changed over the weekend.  Review really slowed down and the forum must have locked up.  I saw mention of "no views" and have noticed the same thing.  I wonder if all this changed because I changed my "subs option" to NO?

I don't think so ^^, I think StockXpert is now redundant in Getty's portfolio.

I'm liking these guys ... even when they reject my images.  I swear, they give the most detailed explanations of anyone I know.  It's almost like a personal message with each rejection.  If you are a StockXpert reviewer ... THANKS, you guys are good.
