Just got my final payout.   I closed down my account and I thought I deleted all of my images about 5 weeks ago.  What I did was delete the all of the folders.  About 2 weeks  later I found that my images were still there.... did a little research.... found that I had to delete each image.....image by image.....   I liked this site but it was one of the worst sites for uploading images for approval.  And to have to delete the images one at a time..... I felt I was getting carpal tunnel syndrome.

Actually, I DID check them one by one and delete them. Went into my account Sunday, and they are all back on the site. I sent a note to support. What a clusterfloot that whole thing turned into. I did check Thinkstock, at least they are not there.

I'm just curious, why is everyone taking the time to manually remove each image in their portfolio?

I got my last payout and am opted out of subscriptions.  My stuff was never put on Thinkstock.  Why spend hours removing them when they are just sitting there not hurting anything?

I got my final payout today to....a wooping $31.70...woo hoo. I just ask them to close my account and they said the images would be deleted and the account closed on February 11th or 12th...don't remember the date, but from what I experienced then did it for me when I requested the account closure.

That's what I thought too, I was opted out of subscriptions, but they still sent a batch of mine to Thinkstock (about 130 out of 8000 ) but it scared me enough to delete them all.

Got mine too. Assume they are paying off everyone now. Agree with Lisa. I've never deleted my images from any site. Several times this has ended up paying off in the end.

Because at the time, that's what they told us to do. If you remember, we were only supposed to leave our images up if we wanted them to go to thinkstock. If we did not, we were supposed to delete them all and close the account. But then, nothing really worked like it was supposed. A bunch of us had our images go to thinkstock, even though we did delete them all and ask for the account to be closed. What a frickin mess.

edit: a message posted on the forum said that they are now having issues with image caching. Apparently my images are showing in my account again because they have been cached. Here's their exact words:

It sounds like you're seeing old cached results. We're having some problems with having out of date pages being cached and that would explain this. If you've been through the process and deleted them, then they are deleted. We're working on getting these caching problems sorted out and that will take care of this for you.
In the meantime, remember that only you can see these results - the site isn't searchable by anybody else. I know that you want the images gone though and once we get the cached fixed they will be again. Thanks.

If there weren't so many problems with images showing up on thinkstock that never should have been there, I would actually believe what they are saying. Now...grain of salt, etc. etc.

Still waiting on mine, but since it's Getty, I'm not worried. It'll come eventually.

I sent an e-mail to them to request my final payment.  I promptly received a reply, asking me to delete all of my images.....a real pain, deleting one at a time.......around 1100 of them!  Within a few days of doing that, I received my final payment today.

And the funny thing about the caching explanation...after I deleted my photos, even though they went to thinkstock, they were gone from my StockXpert account. I checked several times. So the caching thing is kind of like a miracle...it brought back my photos from the dead! I have zombie photos!  :)

Hmmm. Thanks for that. Maybe I should drop them another email, as I did exactly the same steps as you described. But that was several weeks ago, and still nothing.  :(

I rec'd an email from "Sebastian" telling me I had to delete my images in order to get my final payout.

Which I am still un-patiently waiting for.

Got my payment, couldn't log in days before that.

I did not delete my photos, although they had asked me to do it before paying me and closing my account.

Should I worry?

Should I worry?
The only way those images can go is to TS. I would check there periodically.

I did delete my photos, and asked that my account be closed on Feb. 2. Got my final payout, I couldn't log in to my account for a time either. But now, my account is open again and my photos are showing up again! Admin has said that my images are showing because they are having a problem with cached images. I have assured that I am the only one that can see them and they are not searchable. I don't know what the explanation is for my account being open again, though.

I don't know if you should worry. I am really bothered by the way this whole istock/thinkstock/StockXpert thing has been handled. Just proves how very little control we all have over our own photos.

Is it legal to offer the images on ThinkStockPhoto when you've never agreed with them being offered there? I doubt that...

I don't remember opting out of subscriptions but none of my images seem to be on Think Stock. Nor have I seen any final payout from StockXpert.  Although I don't know where to look for them. Any guesses?

Thanks db....
Yep, those are mine. At least some of mine (and not my best sellers--????)  that were at StockXpert. I'm still in the dark about this whole TS thing. The images that you so kindly found for me say Istockphoto on them. Does TS just redirect images that were once on StockXpert to IS? I could make no sense out of any of the StockXpert info that was on their site, including how they were going to pay us. I did follow the link to IS regarding pay but found no explanation at all...at least that I could understand. Sorry for being so dense on this subject.
