Title: Subscription Sales
Post by: Kngkyle on January 24, 2009, 02:23
Are they completely taking over for anyone else or just me? My ppd downloads have fallen off a cliff in the past 2 months. Hell I have had more ppd sales at Shutterstock this month than at StockXpert! I'm thinking of opting out for February to see if I do any better. I need to make that decision soon cause I think it takes a few days for photos.com and JIU to sync.

Only subscription downloads here since december. More than before. But income is less.

Think again - it can take up to 90 days for your images to disappear once you opt out.

95% subscriptions this month

90% of those from photos.com and JIU so I suppose they are extra sales I wouldn't have got.

I have 40% credit dls to 60% sub dls this month at StockXpert. A much higher percentage than Fotolia or Dreamstime which are both about 65% credits to 35% subs.

I have 66% of subs and 34% of pay per DL  when I count number of DL's. But when I count earnings, I have 16% earnings from subs, and 84% from pay per DL.

It takes up to 90 days for the images to disappear from photos.com and JUI, but they stop being available for StockXpert subs right away.

I opted out of subs a couple of weeks back when their latest reporting bug happened and my StockXpert subs stopped right away while the StockXpert credit sales jumped quite a bit.  That said, StockXpert credit sales are not quite as numerous as the StockXpert subs were, but my StockXpert income has gone up since opting out.

I am still getting sub sales through photos.com and JUI, though because of the 90 day wait.

Kyle, I will be interested to know if your $ on StockXpert go up if you opt out.

Yea I will definitely give it a try next month. My average sale there this month is 39 cents.  :-X Before it was always at or above $1 average.

2 pay as you go out of 11 dl for me.
I give absolute numbers instead of percentage, as the numbers are so little =)

I'm quite happy about stockxpert. My first month there, and they accepted more than 90% of what I threw to them, had a sale where I made 5$, and regular sub sales.

Subs account for 65% in number of downloads but less than 25% in earnings this month.

I'm not very happy with the overall trend at StockXpert compared to a few months ago, but it is still ahead of DT for me and I like the occasional $7.50/$5 commission for XL/XXL downloads.

I'm not sure however that subs do cannibalize ppd.

I had a subscription sale of XXL file for 0,30 yesterday. Is it OK? I thought XXL were not sold for 0,30 but for more... It was JUI.

0.30 commissions seems to be another trend of StockXpert lately, regartless the size of the picture, that's all I've being getting for the past couple of months...its really getting tiresome with only subscription sales.  ???
