Title: Upload photos and get PAYMENT
Post by: Fredrick Lee on July 24, 2015, 04:24
Hi, everyone. I'm writing this because we just launched a new offer to the contributor who have big portfolio, you may be interested in it.
Every contributor can get $1,000 USD as advance payment after he/she have more than 10,000 images on-line.  Once your account will have 1,000 USD in commissions on SuperImageMarket, we will deduct this money from your balance account.

You can find more information from this page: http://www.superimagemarket.com/Upload-your-money-and-get-advance-payment.html (http://www.superimagemarket.com/Upload-your-money-and-get-advance-payment.html)

If you have any question, you can send email to           [email protected]

Thank you!

1 The link from the OP does not work (404 error)

2 Quite hard to find contributor information on the site but http://www.superimagemarket.com/About.aspx?content=7 (http://www.superimagemarket.com/About.aspx?content=7) states you pay them a storage fee for having images on their site. Images I looked at were selling for $1

3 This is supposed to be a contract but is written in pidgin English – would be interesting arguing the finer legal points of that

Upload your money? Something doesn't seem right, but if it's legit SIM isn't getting enough content to compete. Then, when you do this (I haven't looked at the terms) you are likely locked in forever because it will take forever to make $1,000.

No gracias.

The money will be in your account. And you can withdraw the money to your paypal.

I have clicked the link and it works.

We are a new-launch marketplace.   And you can get free-forever account if you register before Jan 1, 2016.

Yes, some images are sold for $1. But the price is set by the contributor.  If you want, You can sold your image for FREE or $999, it is up to you.

You'll owe your soul to the company store.

Fredrick, what with portfolios already uploaded?

All images upload before Jan 1, 2016 will be counted. So if you have uploaded images, you can upload more.

In fact, we don't accept soul.
This advance payment is optional.
You can register in and upload and just sell your images without advance payment. And as you know we give 80% royalty to the contributor after Jan 1, 2016.

If you read the fine print, you'll see that you can only remove your images after they've earned $1,000 and that $1,000 has been deducted from your account. it also looks like they charge "storage fees," so you'll probably end up paying fees while you wait for your images to someday earn $1,000, and during that time you are unable to remove your images. And i would guess the storage fee is larger the more images you "store." So you could end up with your 10,000-image portfolio held for ransom, and continue to pay "storage fees" forever, because who knows whether they'll ever sell on this site?

Contributors who can get advance payment must register in before Jan 1, 2016. We DO NOT charge the contributors who register before Jan 1, 2016 for any storage fee.

$1/Gig/Year?

1 image is roughly 10MB+ on average, so 100 images is 1+ GB. 10,000 images = roughly 100+ GB.

So anyone who uploads their 10,000 portfolio will be paying $100+/Year in storage fees until your portfolio his 100,000, which is nigh impossible.

That's not a nice business model. As if contributors hasn't been screw enough already. It's quite shady actually.

Supposedly they don't charge storage fees if you sign up by jan 1, but you still can't remove your work until it's earned back $1,000 in royalties. And do microstock agencies ever change their T&C's? (rhetorical question.) if I had 10,000 images I'd pass.

We hope contributors upload their best work to superimagemarket.com. And we do not want contributors upload lots of similar photos. So we charge storage fee. And  We provide 10 GB for contributor in Level 1 ( account with 1 flag ) for free, and 100 Gb for contributor in level 2 ( account with 2 flag ) for free. If a contributor make its account into level 3, this contributor will get unlimited free space to storage images.

Contributor can remove their images freely.  You can sell images or remove as your wish.

But if a contributor accept advance payment, we have to limit this contributor to remove images.

There's a relatively small group of contributors with over 10K images. I'm guessing that they're earning enough elsewhere that getting paid $1,000 up front isn't any incentive at all to upload to an unproven site.

I'm guessing there are less than 20 members here with over 10K images to consider uploading.

You keep coming back here with more gimmicks. What's needed is some sort of marketing plan - how you plan to attract and keep buyers for the site. Also, past offers to pay a bonus for uploads were not an advance against future royalties but a flat payment. I understand that money now versus money later is worth more in real terms, but this isn't all that great a deal (even if you ignore the lock on content)

That whole SIM "business plan" is "too smart" for a simple mind like myself...:

(1) on one hand, stringent selection is wanted -- but on the other, 10,000+ images are "more wanted", hence rewarded with an advance of a grand (or, rather, 10¢ per piece); how likely is it that 10,000+ pictures only represent one's "best work" (or is it just me shooting crap and only having just below 9999 award-winning photographs here)?

(2) SIM is an agency (taking 20% in commissions" proves this fact) and, at the same time, is "providing storage space" (how utterly kind)... No, it is in SIM's best interest to "provide space" and store images in order to increase the chances of applying a better multiplier to those 20% and increase their own automatic stream of income running from a system-built-once and providing perpetual cashflow that way. Nothing wrong with that, but pretending to "provide something" when it is primarily for one's own benefit is a big no-no.

(3) Level-3-contributors being "awarded even more" kind of only confirms points (1) and (2) raised above.

(4) Expecting people here to *not read* the T&C and lock away our creative work somewhere in the Chinese back alleys does not inspire much confidence either.

Also, the guy in that cover image is grinning on at least $2,500 -- I guess, this is for 25,000+ images of his "best work"?!

As I said, all a bit too "intelligent" for most people on this forum, I'm afraid. As for me, it's Thank you but no-thank-you...

Mr. Lee, thx for replying.
as you can clearly see, your agency has a lot to rewrite conditions before you can get any contributor to join you.
nothing personal, as we are indeed looking for alternatives, but alternative that is better than shutterstock... or getty for those before the upheaval.

as already pointed out, the gig per annum and the numbers don't match. anyone with item images of 10,000 would already earn far more than 1K.
anyone with item images of less than even 999 would still not go with your storage charge .

but pls do continue to communicate as this is the only way you can do business... old or new...
to gain the trust of contributors here.

other point which is a big point is what joanne said, what's the marketing strategy? who and how much have you already gain market play in stock photography? 1k for 10K images is not a big carrot, really.

your turn !!! 8)

"We hope contributors upload their best work to superimagemarket.com. And we do not want contributors upload lots of similar photos."

If I was going to upload 10k images for an advance of $.10 each, it would absolutely be the bottom of my portfolio barrel, similar or no. There hasn't been a startup in years with the clout and funding to earn a decent return for their artists. That train left the station years ago. I can't think of any reason, why anyone would upload their best works to SIM.

So even if you snagged a group of people willing to do this, the model guarantees a set of images that no one wants to buy and therefore it will fail. So even if I had 10,000 images that has never sold (and if I dig through archived rejects, that is entirely possible) I would get a  one time only payment of $1,000. And that is if I am understanding the ToS correctly and everything is on the up and up.

The problem for you and the other startups who troll this forum every few months is that most of us have been doing this for years. We have seen dozens of you come and go, and many of us have wasted a lot of time and effort in the hopes that somebody has a winning formula. So far no one has. And this one doesn't sound like on either.

Maybe someone else can refresh my memory, but there was another one a few years ago that paid us to upload. Reason I can't remember them is they did nothing and finally went away.

Good luck and I hope you make it, but it's a no for me.

iStock did it with logos - paid logo artists IIRC $5 per accepted logo, then aborted the logo offering.

I think there was another micro too, but can't remember which.

albumo paid for uploads, as did fotoarabia -- neither produced any decent sales, but they did honor their promise - and no one ever asked for 10,000 Images before!  what's to keep them from accepting 9999 and then rejecting everything else?

I uploaded a few dozen images 4 months ago but have yet to get many views, and zero sales

I have seen that SIM makes invoices with adresses of buyer and contributor.

Whats with the EU-VAT on superimagemarket.com?
If they are only a marketplace every european contributor has to pay VAT for every single buyer from europe in there homecountries.

They will say, but i think SIM cannot make invoice on behalf of another company. They will give you invoice from their own company and you will not pay VAT, as they are outside EU.

No matter where is SIM homecountry europeans have to pay vat for every single european buyer in his homecountry.

Bye bye sim!
