Not sure if it's the contact form or someones trying to mess with me but.  Using contact form 7 to send a test email went to spam folder requesting to reset password (which I haven't done).

It's weird because I got another email from another forum saying someone tried to login as me but failed.  So I'm not sure if the one I got from wordpress is what I sent.

The slideshow on the network images is making me feel seasick. Can autoplay be optional? I'd love to switch it off if possible.

BTW We are appearing in our own network searches. Is that a bug or a feature?

Not a bug...just a thing working like it supposed to - apparently its picking up a promoted keyword. I just have to build in a check that its not promoting you on your own site

Leo - My testing (tulip) site is supposed to be de-activated but is still showing up on the network results - see stockabily.com (although I have just sent a pm to Jean asking him to delete/change it)


Deleting sites from extended network does not make them disappear - they come back with next save.

The shopping cart bug that causes the items to still be in cart after payment was not sorted by refreshing the page yesterday during my test purchase..

Maybe a link like "thanks for your purchase.. please click here to go to your purchased items" would be good.. that link would just re-send user to the same page..

is there a reason not to combine the marketing and network listings?  couldnt we just create our network  by clicking on the sites we want in the marketing page?

also, when we click on the 'get sym card' icon on networking - why not use the same  file name you do in seeds rather than calling all of them symbiocard?  (all these were at least v2.3.3)

same for reset - this should be a button too, but it's such a drastic action (deleting all cards in seeds folder too, so should have a confirmation 'do you really..'----

All good ideas! I don't want to overwhelm the network page - but if you guys want to add in the directory page with the network  page let me know and I'll make the adjustment. Its a simple "include" so 10 minutes of work or less.

what's the current difference between network & directory?  seems like they should be the same -- if there's a limit to the network, you could add another box along with 'promote','exclude', etc  then you could have 10 checks in the network list, unlimited in the others

an update is donealso, if deleted will the sites still show up (grayed out?)? otherwise deleted sites will keep coming back when a new scan update is done

Difference:

1. Network is contolled by you.
2. Directory is automatically populated, the result of network ties.
3. Promoted keywords allow "directory comparison" where symbiocards jump directories based on demand.

1. Human controled.
2. Machine controlled.
3. Search / customer controlled.

So its a hierarchical relationship that ensures subjects find their way to their target audience gradually. Sort of like how Burdock plants use animal/human traffic to relocate ideally.

So although your "scanner" can see friends of friends, your scanner does not know whats in directories. This saves your website from working too hard and bloating up, having a lot of irrelevant contacts. Important for when SY starts becoming a huge network.

When your site does a remote search, however, your friend's site scans their own directory for promoted keywords, and Symbiocards containing those promoted keywords "jump", being added to a spidering que.

Promote doesn't do anything yet, since everything is promoted by default. Call it future development.
Delete - deletes the person from your directory.
Exclude - Most important - if someone has content you do not wish to include (use your imagination) then thats the button you want.

hey I just went to someones site and it came up with this pop up box...

Yeah, that was a cute attempt of a webmaster to show how it can be tampered with it wasn't legitimately infected.

Basically that tells me I just have to do a code-strip on both sides.

Technically symbiocards always come directly from the source website.

So even though a symbiocard is "Sensed" in a directory of a neighbor site, it is still enqued and retrieved from the source site. So I can't just "infect" one and send it loose. Symbiocards are retrieved from the source.

Noticed a couple of funny things...

Click on any of the text below the image - the description, the author bio or the image updated section and watch it dance! (click LOTS to see what I mean better). Why is this text not just text now? How come it can be clicked? And can we stop it from doing that!?

Also, the drop down that you have on the image page (as above), the default item in the list that shows up is "Photographer Info" and it's clickable - but it doesn't do anything. Could it direct you to the author page instead? Seems more logical to me.

Also, where its got my name under the picture, "Tim Hester", could we have an option to append some text in front of it, such as "Image by" or "(C) THP Stock Photos / "or whatever we like, so that it sort of acts as a byline for the picture?

Lastly, the bio summary that shows up on the image pages, can it be lengthened a little, so that there's not as much empty space created by having the authors picture showing up there?

I changed list since it was messing up some generic lists in the theme.

You can just add it to your child theme:

how deep does the search go?
when do the extended directory & promoted keywords come into play?

if I search for 'animal' and have 10 sites in my network, what happens?

if all sites have images that match, do any of them look further?

Hi there! I'm almost done your tag-list function. It will auto-generate when images are.

Put as simple as possible:

I search "animal" on your site. Your site does two things:

It searches your network contacts as it always does. Your network contact's site searches their own directory for "animal". If it does have it, it lists the site in the XML response.

If your site sees anything listed, it adds those to a "spidering" que.

It scans your directory to see if anyone has promoted keyword "animal" and lists them.

The next day the newly discovered site will be in your directory, and its results will show.

It takes a whole day for a site to "hop". Which is ok...its following the path of demand. Not attempting to give "instant" results.

Mostly bug fixes. Below marketing tab you can access your image and keyword csv files - which some marketing services may use.

AJT updated the caching functions too.

We have some stuff under way from some people helping on search. Also Amanda may be giving the theme a small make-over, but since she is busy it will probably be a while (no rush )

In the meantime, as main bugs are addressed, I think my final order of business is to start listing credits of people who have helped, on the main site or perhaps right in the theme itself.

I think appearing twice is great as it lets clients look slowly or zoom though images  (original search and I assume directory) but now I appear three times which I assume is due to the promoted keywords ?  Try searching animal on my site for example
