Author Topic: Issues with Symbiostock 2.6.0 (Read 5096 times)

Well I think we needed a thread like this..

here is one of the issues I noticed:

see the word "array" right beside the price..

What's that doing in there? it maybe confusing for some customers..

also, I did a test registration and test purchase after upgrading to 2.6.0 and:

- confirmation email went to junkmail folder
- had to refresh the page after returning from paypal to download the file..

it might be irrelevant but I did many test purchases on 2.5.6 and the need to refresh after purchase, seemed to have gone..

Also, I thought this would have been automatically resolved with 2.6.0 but I continue to get this error since 2.5.6 when I try to process new uploads:

Cannot find watermark at location: /cidepix/wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/image-processor/symbiostock-watermark.png< ... Please check that you entered it correctly in your Settings Area. Default watermark used.

this problem came out of nowhere.. everything worked well before with my current settings as you can see I uploaded hundreds of images.. it is a false alarm because in my settings I have a totally valid URL in watermark image section..

after purchasing the upgrade, I now realize the little bug I mentioned on the attached image is caused by the premium plugin..

if you have premium plugin, it will display the license type..

if you have 2.6.0 without the premium upgrade, it displays the word "array"

...

Can't confirm that.
I just updated from 2.5.6 to 2.6.0 and everything seems to be fine. Have not purchased the premium plugin yet.

I see it on google chrome and internet explorer.. (windows vista)

I do NOT have a problem processing new uploads (regarding watermark issues). Everything processes fine with 2.6.0 for me.

What people do not realize is that its impossible to fully fully fully test something in the myriad of environments. Sometimes you just have to see the bugs when they appear in the natural (in this case, deployed) setting. This comment just put the wind back in my sails so thank you much.

in the meantime I'm continuing to address the urgent issues. Just like the free downloads, I appreciate people taking a chance on it. As history in Symbiostock has shown...it will get fixed if its serious.

Just an update: Most of the named problems (in both threads) have a common factor which I'm almost done fixing.

In the meantime, please have a little fun and test out twitter integrator.

I upgraded to 2.6. Processed an image just fine, watermark looks good. I don't show the word array anywhere, firefox, safari and chrome, mac. I havent been able to purchase a test image because I lost my wallet today.

~~What a nightmare that will be if it's not in my co-workers car (we went to lunch). My last hope.~~ edit: It was in his car. What a relief!

So, so far so good with me. Will wait to make a test purchase, and wait a day or so before moving on to any new plug-ins.

Edit - problem not solved. Still working on it.

This should not have been a difference between the two versions. Is it possible your PHP settings are different between the two sites? But its another base covered just in case. Thanks for reporting it.

It could be because it's a testing domain and the network feature is disabled.. it will never be a symbiostock site.. it's only there for testing purposes..

Thanks Leo, I will check it out when I am on a pc.. I believe both my main and testing domains have identical hosting environments..

I think I've found an issue. I'm on the latest update 2.6.1.

The "Excerpt" (fed by IPTC image caption) is gone in "Edit Image".

Before that Yoast would read out the text from the excerpt and would automatically fill it into the meta description field. Not anymore. Now you have to fill your meta description manually.

Finally the "Royalty Free Images" seems to be gone, too. The new term is "Stock Images". Thanks for that.

I reverted back to 2.5.6 for now. I don't have the inclination to troubleshoot that error above in 2.6.0. I will wait a little while and see how it all shakes out. I just made a change to my Profile page and saved and didnt get the error, so.
