I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread about this.

I'll start with the first one.

Maybe I'm not seeing the obvious but I can't find how to share a single image post on Twitter (not the daily automatic routine). I thought it should be an option when I "Edit" an image but I can't find it. And yes, I looked at "Screen Options" too.

The Twitter question is still open. Haven't found an answer yet.

But here are the next questions.

Collections
Where/how to find a collection on the actual website?
Where do i set a price for a collection of images?

Both problems (Twitter and Collections) are clearer now. In theory.

Instructions about how to make a collection can be found when you click on Collections in the batch editor.

To tweet a picture you need to select one first (after a search in the batch editor) and then click on the "Twitter" tab.
However, it didn't work and I received an error message.
BTW, does anyone else have problems with twitter.com today?

I got the same error when trying to tweet a minipic or large preview. No errors when I set twitter options for "link only". I checked my twitter account and the link did show up in my tweets.

I think I'm falling in love with the new "Collections". It's a little additional work but I'm trusting it to become a very powerful sales feature.

Nice collection!  It would be great to be able to turn off the "similar images" function on the collections page.  Way too many of the same pictures on one page.

Yes, I agree.
In addition I'd love to see a text link on every single image page that's also part of a collection like "This image can be purchased as part of a collection at a discounted rate: <link to collection>"

Do you determine the price of the collections or are there default prices depending on how many images you place in that collection?  Or do you have some kind of formula that you come up with on your own?  Just curious since I can't do the premium version at this time and I do have sets I want to put together.

You just set any price you want for the different sizes. I try to make collections as attractive as possible to make the potential buyer think what a great deal he can get if he spends a little more money.

O.K., I have used the "Referral Link" inside the "Edit" image area (I actually did this with the new batch editor) to include the link on single image pages to the collection. That works pretty well but I don't like the position where the referral link (widget) shows up. I'd rather have it over the "Similar Images" instead of under them.

As seen here: http://picturebreeze.com/stock/photos/image/close-up-of-man-kissing-baby-belly/

Does anyone know how/where to change that?

Would they be in your Appearance > Widget area if they are just drag them from one box to another.

If you use AJT's stock plugin http://www.ajotte.com/stock-plugin/ you can customise an alert box at the top of the sidebar, triggered by a word in the description (which is then hidden).

Yes, I know. I'm doing this with "Editorials" and "iPhone Camera" images already. While this might be a general solution, I'd rather have it more specific including the link to the particular collection. And since I'm planning to use the collection feature a lot I don't want to set up a new category for every new collection.

Nope, the referral links are not in the widget area.

Twitter was hacked a few days ago:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/27/twitter-hacked_n_3825422.html

My stream stopped auto-publishing images on the 25th

https://twitter.com/RoyaltyFree3d

A little research on the twitter API suggests something is off on their end (I hadn't changed any code)

Checking into this and another few small issues today.

having trouble using collections - I seem to be able to set them up, but I can't find them, afterwards.
 here's what I've tried doing:

=========
- search images
- collections -- create new
- click & edit main image -- add prices, collection
-- add all images to the collection

================
--- says 'edit image' when setting up the title image - yet it's really editing prices for the collection???  after editing for the collection, that image is no longer available for individual purchase??

---- how do people know where the collections are?? there's no separate category, and when the title image is shown with others, there's nothing to show it's a collection.  even when you click on the image, the collection prices are shown, and there's a small line of text that says "46 images included" but that's easy to miss since there's nothing else to identify this as a collection

----------  i'm in 'edit collections' -- choose 'taj mahal (17)' and it shows the images with 'remove' links - but no way to set a main image????  shouldnt let you save a collection without setting a main image for the title

if I choose 'edit' I just get name., slug, parent & desc - no way to change prices

=================
when I 'view collection' ---- - doesnt show any images, just list title & desc, with nothing saying it's a collection and no link to the collection to buy it

You upload ONE image as your "main" or title image for a collection. Then you set the pricing of this image how you would like to price the entire collection.

Then you go to the batch editor, find this image there and "edit". When editing you simply choose "Preview for" and pick the collection you had set up already. That's it.

Here's my newest one: http://picturebreeze.com/stock/photos/image/collection-of-woman-in-yellow-bikini-2/

Optional, I've set up a "Collections" category and assigned it to my "main/title" images. This way you can find them on you category page or (like I did) put even a link on your menu bar.

after playing with it this afternoon, I've got collections working - not sure if it'soptimum, but it's there:

http://cascoly.com/download-image-collections.asp is an external page for all collections

from my main page I have a link to the collections page at http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image-collections-cascoly/

what's still missing are links from the individual images in the collection (I've suggested an 'add text' feature to bulk edit that would append text to all selected images)

I quote myself to explain what I've done.

I've copied the content-image.php to the child folder and changed the order of the displayed modules.
I simply pulled the line 137
Code: [Select]
        $cart_options->display_referral_links();
above the line 133
Code: [Select]
        dynamic_sidebar( 'Image Page Side' );
This way I can add a text link to my collection images by using the "Referral Link" field(s) pointing to the collection and it will show up above the Similar Images widget.

Depends which software I use. Some agencies do the keywording for me, actually.

When I try to upload the theme tells me that is failing:

Destination folder already exists. /home1/luxurys8/public_html/food.ezeepics/wp-content/themes/symbiostock/

What do I have to do?

Do you know which version your currently installed theme is?

Just do the theme update inside your WP admin area (Appearance -> Theme).
If you are on 2.6.X already then you can skip the theme update for now and just install the plugin.

In fact, I noticed that after when I uploaded the plugin, installed it succesfully and saw that is working. I thaught than that maybe is not necessary to install the theme too. Seems it works. My current Symbio is 2.6.5
Do you have an idea of how many items supports the Header Menu? Because I had a problem with it, I added too many items and I started to not see anymore the main items. When cancelled some of the subitems, the main items appeared again.
Thank you for help.

I tend to forget that not everyone has upgraded theme before, sorry.

For anyone else if this happens - you may have to select another theme - 2013 or something, delete symbiostock, install symbiostock , reinstall child theme (do not delete child theme)
~~

Regarding the number of sub-categories.  I have no idea how many is the limit, I have quite a few  ::)  .  The number of main headings is limited by the space available, if you have too many they will spill over onto the next line.

The problem is, if I add even a subcategory in plus of the limit number, I start to loose , main items in the menu. They dissapear completely  :)
Doesn't matter, I removed all the third level subcategories. They are anyway visible in the Subcategories Map page.
Thanks Christine.
