Title: Release status publishing?
Post by: Redneck on July 21, 2013, 08:09
With all the great new plugins/theme upgrades popping up, I'm wondering if the issue of being able to publish the release status on the image page has been addressed yet.
Or maybe there is an easy fix or workaround for it that I'm not aware of?

I think it's important to show the potential customer if there are model/property releases available or not.

Also, another nice feature would be to add coupon codes to the shopping experience.

Coupon code - why not add this to your "thank you or purchasing email"  then refund them if they use it.   On my other site we use these a lot, not automated but in wit their parcel and not once have they been used, even with repeat purchases

I think you can create coupons using PayPal

Not quite sure I understand how you do it.

My idea of the purpose of a coupon code is not to say "Thank You" for a purchase that has been made already but to trigger a purchase and set a time limit for it.
For instance running a "special" with a coupon code that gives you XX% discount when you order within XX hours/days.

You can give discounts now - then just add a text box saying what you are offering and how long for?

Edit - text box is in the widget area

Yeah, I know but that doesn't work well.

First of all, new images will not catch the discount when you process and publish them. You'd have to fill the discount percentage into every new image manually. Or run an "apply settings to all existing images" every day after uploading/editing new images.

Second, I don't always want to give a general discount for all and everybody. I'd like to keep the discount/coupon option for specials, like "Sign up" or "Like" or "Share" to receive a discount coupon code etc. Or as an incentive when a potential customer contacts me about a particular image. I could answer him and then give him a discount of 10% when he orders the image within 24 hours. You know like grabbing the customer by the horns and don't let him think twice.
