Title: SLAM this Symbiostock
Post by: plrang on June 26, 2013, 19:27
Anyone would like to test the SLAM?

http://stock.imagerion.com/syxtra/slam/ (http://stock.imagerion.com/syxtra/slam/)

More features on the way...

Really though I think thats very awesome. In fact you could use that to document all sorts of traffic sources and activity, allowing you to see how productive your connections are. I think that has lots of potential on a lot of levels.

If you wait about a week, you will have some new +1 type functions to use in updating site traffic stats and such without having to invent them yourself.

It's just a baby at the moment. Final version will certainly look and work different.
What I would be happy it is the [referer] in the request..

I'll be making an "r=" along with the website's key which you will be able to use.

Please keep me posted on your progress and let me know if you'd like any hooks or actions set up anywhere. I love this plugin :D

great idea -- of course, some questions -- I added you to my list, but it appears the only time searches from my site show up on SLAM are when matches are found on your site?

eg, 'Burma' doesn't show at all, but 'bird' submitted after does.  in neither case does my site appear on the list of sites to the right

I did not examine the SY code for the search yet, but maybe you could set the CURLOPT_REFERER to a proper value? If that would work, these options could be used more efficiently without to putting anything into the URL query

some questions -- I added you to my list

There is no filter determining MY or OTHERS keywords, so SLAM displays all received data. I saw your BURMA on ipad btw.

If MY site doesn't appear when you perform a search on YOUR/SOME site - SLAM won't receive a signal, because there is no request sent.
Also a second call for BURMA may not show up, because of the cache.

There is no way to extract the site domain correctly at the moment, because most websites show their SERVER name instead of the DOMAIN - shared hosting.

That's why there are descriptions "SY possible" etc.. SLAM just gets few factors and tries to approximate the source.
"your site will be listed here" means - in the Incoming Traffic area, I can't add the cascoly.com :(, because the domain name is not visible during the request.

Leo is going to supply the referrer (I HOPE), then it will give 100% correct results.

This looks...
Just wait for the final, I hope you'll gonna like it :)

I am just trying to understand what I am seeing here.

SLAM is showing the requests that the network is sending to your site?

Does it also show what is leaving your site?

I did see a lot of googlebot traffic on the righthand side....  ;D

You have now CURLOPT_REFERER set in network calls from my site. Try it out :)

My site is not showing up, is my site uberhaupt in the SY network?

Thanks @ajt - work done

@Ron - at the moment imagerion is not on in your personal network list, you'd have to add it, then your site would send signals (would search on imagerion).

Leo will add few changes to the network manager, then my plugin will be also finished, so all sites will see themselves without any effort from the user (I think;))

Sometimes Symbiostock is showing results from sites which you did not add to your network , but you never know when it happens

YES to my(user) site, as for the leaving/outgoing traffic it will be added soon.
Yes... ALL bots love Symbiostock. I had to filter out some results already to not clutter the list on the right
