4. Why are these lines here? Where is content for this section found?

This is where technically you can have some verbage or other relevant stuff to say. If you push "edit" on this page you can add stuff. It will go between the lines. I'd like to put some default stuff in there if user doesn't add anything. Or just lose the lines if content is empty.

Ah ok, gotcha. I like it, was hoping I could put some stuff in there.

Cidepix didn't like idea number 1, and I'm thinking maybe he has a point - titles may not be unique, so a number AND the title could be beneficial (is that what you were thinking Cidepix? Or you just think its a stupid idea anyway?)

I had a perfectly logical reason for putting it there actually - I was too tired to write in the code to get the title.

Ha, can't beat that logic. I stand corrected. ;)

Numbers are unique.. and the files are stored in the same folder.. if they are not automatically given a number they will overwrite each other in case the name is same..

This means two of your totally different images will offer the same download file.. and you may only notice it when a customer complains..

I believe it's great as it is and there is no reason to waste time for something that has no importance for the way the site functions..

I wonder if we should have a list of live sites so that they do not currently link to those that are still being worked on.? I think I am at least a couple of weeks away as want to have a good number of images up plus get the faster search Leo is talking about as they can be a bit slow at times, more so if it cannot find images from network members than when it can I think

afaik all the sites on the network page are live

I am not yet live for purchases although my network links are .  Probably another couple of weeks I think

If anyone gets a chance, please verify your cart [edit: and checkout/filedownload] works. If there are any real problems I'll add it to my list.

I checked mine out a couple of days ago and all worked well. I have not uploaded the very latest parent theme, tho. I am one behind.

I found out what caused this error after processing images. Redirecting pages caused it.

PLaying around with registration and paypal now, seems to work pretty well. Just a few things, but important ones, especially number 2 & 3...

1. bug - in the registration email the new user gets sent, it has a link called "Login Page" - but it actually takes you to the EULA page instead (i.e. WRONG LINK). It also has another link underneath it called "Licensing and Downloads", which does take you to the Account page. Perhaps just one link that takes you to the login section would be best, since you have to login to get to the Account page anyway?

2 - I had some friends purchase some stuff as a test, and they have never used a stock site before. They were confused by the image description page not having an obvious "Add to Cart" or "Checkout" button. They highly suggested this, as have a few others so far. Think this needs to happen ASAP.

3 - Similar to above, same friends confused by the Customer License and FM Area page. The "Get Licenses" button text needs to be changed to "Checkout", or similar. Think this needs to happen ASAP.

I'm working on some revisions tonight. I'll get those done no prob.

The big question (its important)

What are we replacing "get licenses" with?

THP Creative

My suggestion would be "Checkout", or "Complete Checkout" or "Pay Now" - anything along those lines.

Basically it has to make perfect sense for Joe Bloggs who has never used a stock site before and has no idea what a license is.

Also, if you have an empty cart and click "get licenses" at the moment, you get taken to a kinda ugly Paypal error page.

Could the button just be inactive instead, until there is something in the cart?

I put pay now. All set.

Its worth mentioning tonight I'm doing some revisions while bug hunting - the default theme has to be more invisible allowing people to do their own modifications. Also I'm going to improve the front page so its not like "hey go shopping on my blog". Microstock man helped me a regarding priorities on visuals.

THP Creative

Hey leo, in your next update, could you consider NOT forcing the categories to be built upon install? With each update I have to muck around again with categories, deleting ones etc.

As suggested, perhaps adding the default categories could be a tick box option in the admin after install?

Not sure how much work that is...

Its a fair amount of work, so I'll add that in. It could be considered a bug I guess...because its bugs you.   :)

THP Creative

Ha, true, sorry, not really a bug. More of a PLEASE!

Travelling-light

Hi Leo, just a couple of little things that might be nice sometime.

1. On a decently wide screen thumbnails show 6 abreast, so paging in 20s isn't all that neat. The number is hard-coded in functions.php, and although I've changed it to 24, it will have to be redone every update, as there's no easy override I can see in the child theme.

2. Likewise, the hover text for the Category tag cloud is 'xx topics'. That's hard-coded in the core , in category-template.php; anybody got any idea on changing it to 'xx images' without editing core files (which I have done for now) ?

Leo Blanchette

Thanks for mentioning these things. I'll try to change those now.

This would involve using filters (something wordpress gives you to change output from core functionality) - changing it in WP core file should not be necessary. Looking into it right now.

Leo Blanchette

If you guys can keep hacking like you are, maybe you'll end up helping me develop this thing after all! In the meantime, if you want to change "topics" to "images" simply paste this into your functions file. I have it there for next revision-release so don't worry about adding it again.

//this changes the "topics" word to "images" in taxonomy cloud
function symbiostock_category_text( $count )
{
    return sprintf( _n( '%s topic', '%s Images', $count ), number_format_i18n( $count ) );
}

add_filter( 'widget_tag_cloud_args', 'symbiostock_widget_tag_cloud_args' );

function symbiostock_widget_tag_cloud_args( $args )
{

    if ( $args[ 'taxonomy' ] == 'image-type' || $args[ 'taxonomy' ] == 'image-tags') {
        $args[ 'topic_count_text_callback' ] = symbiostock_category_text;
    }
    return $args;
}

This is not necessary for everyone else to do, its just there if your feeling like you want to do it now instead of waiting.

The only way that *might* be happening right now (and its technichally a bug) is that somewhere the slug for the keyword might have been changed. If you go into your keywords area in the admin, you might have a keyword "nature" that has a slug "nature-2". let me know if thats the case and I'll add it. It should have been fixed, but there is probably still ways to cause it to happen.

Hi Leo, I'm getting search errors.

Berlin keyword (and a couple of others) not getting picked up in the search.
Berlin slug is 'berlin'?

My site is running on the Child Theme, latest version of Symbiostock.

http://www.travelwitness.net

Theme is really good by the way, very impressed with what you've done with it.

One other bug I've found is switching off comments on the Child Theme doesn't remove them from the images posts, activate the main theme and it works, switch back and they're there again!
