Ok.  Thanks.  I'll try it.

I sorted that out with a 590x590 watermark.. it is perfect now..

The only problem I'm having is with the watermark on vertical images extending too far on each side.  It's slightly cut off on each side.  No big deal.  Everything else is running very smoothly.  I must say Leo has done an outstanding job with this.

actually I just looked at your wmark.. it is very different compared to mine.. it may not work..

mine is covering the image completely..

I changed it to 490x490.  Works fine now.  Thanks.

getting some odd errors thru google webmaster tools - not sure if it's a real problem

they report an error for

http://cascoly-images.com/pix/search-images/elephant/simplexmlelement.--construct

which is called from
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/search-images/elephant/

when I go to the latter page, all is well, except none of my network links have any elephant pictures [why they don't is another question entirely]

I can't find the first string anywhere on that page using view source -- it may be that the url is missing a '/'?

================
similar errors generated for
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/search-images/elephant/function.simplexml-load-string

**************************************
here's another pair of supposed errors:
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/search-images/decoration/page/2/  is a 404 and is called from
http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/search-images/decoration/

*************************
this one's reported as an error, but the page actually loads ok, saying there are no search results:
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/search-images/lunch/page/9/

which is called from
http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/search-images/lunch/

what's odd here is that cathys page shows my site with 5 images & 8 additional pages (lunch happens to be a frequent activity when skiing!) and  no errors

so it looks like the networking code is shooting out some odd links even though most of the pages are displaying alright

Its not. Those errors were produced earlier (and hence the spider followed some error codes as links) but since everything is running clean now those errors will disappear.

HI Cathy, when I register and log in to your site, it takes me to my profile in the backend dashboard, not to your front end of the website. Otherwise, it works fine. No worries, I can't access anything in the backend of your site, just my profile.

I asked farbled to register on my site, just to check it. She reported the above. Please tell me why she is being taken to the backend of my dashboard. I have mostly been uploading images, so I don't believe I have done anything since I checked registration myself. but who knows.

So sorry!

I just registered, and I was taken to the Customer License area. Can someone explain what is happening?

I just registered on your site to test it out and it seems fine to me, took me to what I would consider the customers account / backend area. I assume if I had purchased images from you previously I would see those downloads on this area.

Odd, I logged in again (4th time) and it went where it should. No longer to the backend but to my customer license area.

logging in depends on where you were when you logged out:

if you did a search, you jump to the frirst image when you log out; when you log in you'll go to the first image from that search

if you were viewing an image, you'll return to that page.

it's got something to do with cookies -- if i close the browser after logging out on an image page, when i open a new browser and login i go to the home page

if i go to my site directly, then jump back  to the home page http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/  it goes to the home page even if i was already logged in & on another page

after being on the home page, if i log out, it still shows the home page, but when i log back in it goes to

http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/customer-license-and-file-management-area/

So if I understand you correctly, Terry (farbled) was in the backend of his site. Then he logged in to my site, and it took him to that same page of my site, because that's where he was before he logged in? Maybe I am misunderstanding the use of the term "backend." I panicked and thought he meant that somehow he was in my admin (dashboard) area, though I would have no clue how that could happen unless there was a MAJOR bug. Which I can't imagine.

So farbled, can you please clarify where you meant you were when you said "backend?"

P.S. apologies to Leo. Unfortunately, newbs like myself don't know the difference between what is a bug and what is a "feature."  :D

usually it's the programmer who can't/won't tell the difference!

in any case, that's just the sort of question we need because we want to make this easy to use without programming.  from what I discovered, it probably wont be confusing to most users as they'll end up on a page that makes sense, but it was disorienting at first

Found an unusual bug/problem, perhaps with the image processor (i'm on bluehost, not sure if we are using imagick yet or not? I forget where we're up to with that).

See this image of mine: http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photography-black-linen-texture-background-image21870217

And then see it on Symbiostock: http://thpstockphotos.com/image/black-linen-texture/

Sort of moire type thing going on, can't render the fine detail properly.

Leo? Any ideas?

Just checking in. I've been putting in much work into the new release, which will really bring everything together. I've been developing multiple things at once, and since you all have a reasonably stable beta to work with right now, this next release will most likely not have any real issues, since I'm not under pressure to release it.

Bugs or features... thats cute. Just keep helping eachother. Your keeping that off of me keeps things moving forward :D

Yep! I know what it is. Its GD.

The good news - I'm redoing the image processing system. I've found a really good solution to use Wordpress's image classes to do most of the work, and to enhance it a bit to apply the watermark. I will also be putting in a "reprocessing" script or quite possibly just make it a plugin.

Solution for now: Any image processing issues just tolerate until next release. The next version is going to be quite depthy, and I finally have the time to "think" and do things systematically since everyone else has a manageable site right now.

This next release will probably be good enough that many issues will be permanently solved.

Cheers, thanks Leo. You're really making me keen to get my hands on this next release...!
