I'll probably buy the premium upgrade sometime but I'm a bit concerned that you were talking about giving this away for free and now the site states the old price was $125.  As its only just out, when was it being sold for $125?  Do you really need to make it look like this is $50 off?

I don't have a problem paying $75 for all your hard work but I don't think the old price $125 is going to entice me, it has the opposite effect.
Completely agree, really on the fence about this now. I need that new search option, but I dont want to be pushed into spending cash to get a discount that is not a discount. Its even not allowed to advertise like that. It was never offered at 125 dollar, unless I am missing something.

Really upset about this. I wont spent 125 dollar on the plugin, but I dont want to stick with the effed up search and completely effed up keyword data base of mine. I am in a hole now.

To anyone who feels like this, I'd advise: Do not buy it.

In the meantime, this subject demands its own dedicated blog post I will link to soon.
Thats some great customer service. Dont buy it.  :) Problem is I need it.

Come on Leo, it can come as a surprise, as you said, on the MSG forum.

Its ok though, I will get the premium version, I will get it on Friday. Thanks for all the hard work. You deserve to make a profit, its only reasonable.

LOL I've never been accused of good customer service.

Your just one of 20 people who probably feel the same way. I'm writing a post on it right now. PS - the "Old" price is automated terminology on the wp-ecommerce plugin I'm using. I didn't write "old" it just posts that way when you set up a sale. No conspiracy.

That made me chuckle   :)

Cheers, look forward to reading your new thread.

Well, I'm now in with the premium upgrade. I said I would, and I did!

Tomorrow will be play-around-with-it time. I have a hunch I'm gonna like it.

Thanks, Leo.
Just got it too. No problems installing on Amanda's clean theme  ;D The batch editor looks amazing. Very fast loading all pictures, I am impressed!
Thanks Leo.

I will get it as soon as I am on a PC.. right now I am watching the progress through my android phone..

I have some feature requests if possible leo..

I will probably buy it regardless, but imo a premium version must include a proper sales stats page which shows us daily, weekly,  monthly, yearly and all time stats..

Also premium version must allow us customer service similar to "cart manager" plugin you offered for free earlier.. and we should have the ability to set download expiration dates or limits..

Are any of these features already included or do you plan on including them any time in the future..

"premium" is different for everyone.. for example features like collections do not mean much to me as I don't plan to sell collections but features I mentioned above would be "everything" :)

Pretty soon I'm going to have the plugin auto-install a few other plugins, like the one you mention. The premium version is going to be my main focus, so features will be trickling in over time, the same as you've experienced with the free version. Upgrades are free :D

What i would really like to see, rather than you, leo, justifying your hard work, is a complete list of ALL the functions included in this upgrade. A serious detailed explanation ( no jokes included) would really help me decide whether i need to invest more money into this.

I am not bothered by the fact that you are asking $125 for this. I AM bothered that up until just a couple of days ago you were waffling between free and $75 and now that it is here, you have raised the price! Oh well, it is what it is. I just need to know exactly what i am getting for my money.

I'm very happy that Premium is available now ... and I'm glad you don't give it away for free, Leo.  This evening or tomorrow I will have time to install it and it will be a pleasure for me to spend 75 $ for your hard work.

What you should of done was tell us that you were going to charge $125 in the forum, then the $75 would of seemed like a good price.  I'll still buy it, as I want to pay you something for your work.  Just waiting for some sites to send me some money before I buy the premium version.

The improved search feature is cool. Now I can even search after the date or place I have put in editorial image description!
About the licenses I have one question though, do I have to write the different licenses by myself, since it is asking for url that contains legal info?

I updated SY to 2.6.0 and did a test purchase and a test registration..

- I had to refresh the page after returning from paypal.. I thought this had been fixed on 2.5.6 as I did many test purchases on 2.5.6 and interestingly never had to refresh the page.. weird that it returned..

- when registering, confirmation email went to junkmail folder.. when I tested registration during 2.5.6 emails always went to inbox..

probably, these issues have nothing to do with 2.6.0 but I just thought I should report..

Awesome!  Just had a quick look around but all of the pro features look wonderful and will come in very handy, I've been waiting for this!  The $75 is well worth it to me, and I think certainly more than fair for the amount of time that was spent on development of this plugin.

Thanks for the Plugin Leo. I just purchased it....now trying to figure out the license management...exactly what I needed before starting to upload!

I think some people are simply a bit disappointed because there had been some expectation that it will be free...

No one expected it to be free. Dont even go there.

I never expected it to be free, i expected it to be $75 with no time limit, because that is what Leo has been saying for months. And no one is saying it isnt worth it. All I am asking is that what is included is explained and documented. In the past, that information has been lacking. I know Leo put a lot of time and sweat into this...i dont need convincing of that. I DO need to make a business decision based on information.

*important if you must update any child theme template files to reflect the current changes, or you will see errors.
But can you clarify this sentence - grammatically I don't know how to interpret it.

If you've modified your theme via a child theme, and have set up some custom templates, then you will have to update those to be consistent with the 2.6.0 templates. Anyone who's child themed would know if they have to do this or not.

The newer base theme has quite a few special hooks (and fixes) thanks to the team effort. Its available right now. After updating toggle the theme so the installer runs, making a few file updates as well.

I'm still not understanding what you mean. Are you talking about page templates?
I do have a child theme running and I did make changes to the layout of the page. What do I need to update/do?

I'm ready to run the update und to purchase the upgrade but I'm scared to mess up my site.

I'm ready to run the update und to purchase the upgrade but I'm scared to mess up my site.

Set up a subdomain with wordpress and symbiostock and child theme and a few images for testing and experimenting (don't link it to the network) and play with it there.  It will be useful when you come to do the licences etc

I dont understand either. Is there a child theme update too then? I am running clean theme 2. Does that need to be updated?

I didn't do that. Just uploaded the premium version last night and this morning it seems to work as well as it did before... with just a few more bells and whistles.

Cathy, I'm running Clean Theme also and didn't do any tinkering with that. It seems to look and function just as it did before. However, I never did make many (any?) changes to Amanda's theme, so my experience may not be the same as yours.

Thanks Martha. I only made css changes, so hopefully the SY upgrade wont interfere. Maybe i will wait a day or two and see if anyone who has made css changes has issues.
