I have just transferred my Symbo site Version: v2.4.1 www.astonmars.com to a new server, hostgator, and everything seems to be working as I left it earlier this year. Guess I need to update to the latest version, but before I do is there anything I need to know?

I'm eager to get stuck back into this great idea again :)

A fair bit, including the Symbiostock forums over here where you'll find much to read on regarding what's up

http://www.symbiostock.org/community/

If you're using Clean Theme you'll have some issues to address, but read general upgrade instructions here

http://www.symbiostock.org/community/viewtopic.php?id=411

You'll need to be at least at Php 5.3 (5.4 works fine) and update WordPress to 3.7.1 if you didn't already

I am in the process of upgrading my heavily customized 2.6.5 site to the current theme. Yes, there are some issues, so I am glad that I decided to work it all out on a test site. It's actually going smoother than expected. You'll definitely like the new features! I can only work a couple hours per day on it but I hope I can go live in a few days.

Welcome back, Reef!

Symbiostock has made tremendous strides, with 160 sites and over 200,000 images at present. Those of us who have kept at it are now enjoying the fruits of our labor. Our sites are beautiful and fully functional. Many SYS site owners are seeing regular sales, and even those who aren't yet selling through their sites are getting increased "hits."

Not only is there a separate SYS forum (see the link Jo Ann provided above), but we also have our own Facebook page now: http://on.fb.me/18Yba0a

When you get your site going again, you'll be in very good company!

Good long stretch of stability with minimal issues beyond basic startup

Facebook page and wiki launch

And a few other cool things.

Unfortunately my Child Theme (style and functions), which I spent days writing, is now mostly obsolete.  You have changed a lot since April, you bad boy :) I will probably have to start from scratch again. Before I do, Leo, can you advise if I should wait until you have a stable and consistent version, with respect to coding?

Things are stable and consistent. People have been enjoying an unchanging symbiostock for a few months now  :D

My site is online unchanged (theme 2.6.5) and without any trouble since July. No need to upgrade at all. But the new features and design Leo coded since then are just too nice to pass on. That is the only reason why I am working on that upgrade of my symbiostock site right now. I don't think you can get any website software more stable and consistent than that.  :)

That's great news guys. And congratulations, Leo, on your efforts. I hope it pays off for you.

If Bluehost is your hosting company, there is a need to upgrade because as of Dec. 1, they upgraded everyone to php 5.4 and SY 2.6.5 doesnt work on that version of php. Your site looks like it's working, but you can't purchase any images. It's really the only reason I upgraded, because I was happy with 2.6.5 and the Clean Theme.

Valid point. I am on Bluehost and still on PHP 5.2.7, though. Never even got notified. So my Symbio 2.6.5 runs great. Hopefully my new site is up and running by the time they upgrade my forgotten server  ;D.

Finally had a chance to re-write my css. I'm having a few problems overwriting some of the Custom Styles built into Symbio. Anyone else had this problem? Anyways, managed to get the home page backup again. Seems ok in all latest browsers, but I welcome critique from anyone who uses an older browser.http://www.astonmars.com/
