I debated whether to mention this or not as I understand from another member, when I asked if I could base some of my wording in theirs, that exact duplicate content downgrades the SEO
While I have no problem at all with others basing their EULA's on mine I would rather they did not use my other pages without asking permission first as a lot of effort and thought have gone into them to make them personal to me
I know in this sharing Symbiostock environment that this sounds selfish but we are all individuals and our sites should reflect that.

Agree, I remember asking someone in the beginning if I could copy some wording about Symbiostock, but ended up writing the whole text from scratch :)
But I agree. However it leads me to a question. Soon I am going to expand my What is Symbiostock? page and going to backlink to all the guides from Amanda, Casoly and AJT.
I was hoping I could copy some text from some of those pages. Just because it addresses Symbiostock and I think if that is the same across the network it reduces confusion and keep the thing all looking professional.

Just ask first ? Our words are just as copyrighted as our images :)

I must confess that I took Ron's 'How does it work' as the foundation and slightly edited: http://elilena.com/how-does-it-work/ (http://elilena.com/how-does-it-work/) . I have huge problems with my English. Alone I could never write it as well. If Ron wants, I can remove this line. Sorry

Asking is a good idea. A link to the wording is also good and more helpful to both sites..google loves links in and out of posts.

Thats fine Elilena, you could do me a favor and link back to my site from your page, Alexa and Google love that ;-)

I don't mind if people use my text as a basis for new pages, just edit it a bit; or you can quote short bits with a link

You can use quotes from SymbioGuides if any of it is helpful, in a couple cases there I am quoting from WordPress documentation or from the forums but I've marked it as a quote where that's the case. A link back would be great if do use something.
I'd really love to add a Templates category where people can get a sample EULA, (already linked to the one provided by Jamie,) Privacy statement and Ethos as has been suggested in the comments on one of the articles. If anyone feels like volunteering these I will post them with a credit link but make it clear that they are not to be used word for word and explain the SEO aspect. (Although I don't think just one page has that much of an impact, especially since your site title and meta description would be different, so in Google's eyes it wouldn't be an exact duplicate)

I've posted elsewhere that I am happy to edit a contributor's Symbiosite Home page/About Me page text gratis if they feel they need their English tidying up. So far only a couple have taken me up on the offer (and they didn't need much tweaking at all) so I guess there's no great demand for that amongst Symbio contributors. The offer still stands though, especially if English isn't your native tongue.
I am more than happy to contribute to these templates as well. Many of you have already had a look at my "Ethos" page but I can also cannilbalise/cannibalize my "Cookies and Privacy Policy" page and I can put together promotional stuff, (again, this has been the subject of a small discussion elsewhere) especially if we can get a collaborative effort going when it comes to ideas and the messages we want to get out there. Additionally, if someone then wants me to fine tune the wording of a template for their individual use, I can do that too.
I'm not too sure about EULAs being template-based though. This may be an over-reaction but IANAL and one word out of place or a couple of contradictory statements could cause all sorts of strife for all parties. So maybe EULAs should be the responsibility of the contrib or use of the template hosted by Symbio comes with a total disclaimer. Or do we we have a lawyer-by-day-symbiote-by-night-type contributor, hiding her/his light under a bushel?
On the other hand, I saw these comments by PhilD and steheap (http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-seo-marketing/symbiostock-alamy-plugin/msg329394/#msg329394) in another Symbio thread and I think there's some mileage in thinking about Dan Heller's approach as far as Symbio is concerned. As ever though, contributor independence should take precedence.
I have plenty of time to do this at the moment and I can prioritise/prioritize it so we can get stuff up and out in a timely manner.
Thoughts?

It would be fantastic if we could chat about this, especially the privacy policy/cookies page idea. Sending you a note in the morning with some ideas! :)
