Let's keep a thread with a list of plug-ins we have found that work well (or don't work) with the Symbiostock theme.

Example, I used a WP plug-in called "All-in-one webmaster" which allowed me to verify my site quickly with Google Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools... HOWEVER, Leo found that this plug-in broke the image uploader.

I was able to add my verification codes to the plug-in, verify my site on the various webmaster sites, and then turn off the plug-in to regain use of the uploader.

I'm currently looking for widgets/plug-ins that customize the look of my site (slideshows, drop-down menus, etc.). If you have found any good ones, post 'em up!

If any one likes the slide show I have on my site it is called Slideshow and is version 2.2.11 by stefanboostra. VERY simple to use and customisable.   I intend to add more when I get more images up

Kind of old-school, but the counter I have in my footer:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/traffic-counter-widget/

I did it to see how fast traffic would happen from network exposure. Struck me as nice cute thing for network people to look at eachother's stats.

That looks nicer than the one I just tried. I'll set this up later tonight.

Tinny, you should add links to the image pages from each slide.

ENHANCED TEXT WIDGET HERE

This allows you to add html, css, etc. into your text for your footers, sidebar, etc. I just installed it and it looks sweet!

Go here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/enhanced-text-widget/

Installation directions are there, too.

PHOTO SLIDER PLUG-IN

I used this Meta Slider plug-in that was recommended by the Ruchas...

http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ml-slider/page/2

It's very easy to use and there is a video showing you how to do it. I have it on my side now.

WARNING: images can be right-clicked and downloaded

I still need to monkey around with it and try other options, and maybe do some styling.

I added a plugin to share pages on FB and twitter: http://techxt.com/tweet-like-google-1-and-share-plugin-wordpress/

it work only for pages so cannot directly tweet a picture too bad

added the counter as well like Leo did http://www.pixme.org/wp-content/uploads/widget-traffic-counter/

fun to see the bump in traffic when I tweet a page:)

I think you can share a picture if you use the sharing plugin in the Jetpack

I want to make the type face smaller, and possibly change colour on my categories page.  Normally I would find the entry a css file and edit it there but the css file is empty.

If anyone has managed this could you please let me know - in VERY simple terms how to do it please

You have to find the css that applies to the area that you want to change. If you are using Firefox you can add an extension called Firebug...then you can hover your web page and it will show you the css for that item. I know Firebug doesnt work with Safari because I just researched that yesterday, you have to use Firebug Lite and apparently it's not as good. I don't know about IE.

Hmmm, can't find your share buttons. They won't show up in FF browser....

New feature with FAA: integration of your FAA stuff via iframe. Got the code line from FAA, installed the Wordpress plugin "iframe", created a page "Prints", pasted the code (and had to remodel it bit according to iframe-plugin syntax), added that page to my main menu, and here's the result:

http://www.imagoborealis.com/prints/

Pretty  8), isn't it? - What do you think?

Thanks. I didn't know Google analytics was part of the SEO plugin. I'll install and check it out for sure!

Now I see what those little sunglasses smilies are for!
Thats pretty cool - its actually quite new to me. Is that a general retailing of other prints, or are those yours...? Completely new to me. I'm glad your finding other ways to get your site working for you.

Those images offered as prints are all mine. The combination of plugin and iframe code includes my whole FAA portfolio including FAA cart and checkout (almost) seamlessly in my Symbiostock site. Took me 5 minutes to set this up!

Perfect, thanks. I chopped the home pages images into quarters so if they do get stolen they will be incomplete images, but I will add this too.

That's great! I've added one to my site as well, but it show the images in the order they were uploaded (I think). Have you found any way to modify what is shown when you first open that page and see the FAA results? It would have been great to show the galleries in order rather than the actual images.

Very Cool!!!  Now I just need to set up my FAA site too so I can add a Prints tab.
