I just saw the button for Marketer on the Marketing Page of the Theme.

Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?

If it is what I think it is, I am happy but I am not sure.

I clicked the button, and read it twice before I posted my message here.  The info doesn't answer questions such as how this feature works, Why it is there, How you see it working.... and I have not seen any discussion on this, which I think could be one of the most interesting features of the site.

One of the reasons I posted thins thread is to get the discussion started!

Oh ok. I have to double check what I wrote. So many of these things are written between many other symbiostock activities so I must have missed quite a bit in explanation detail.

What the Marketing Feature is:

A tool for external agents and the future "Symbiostock Hub" sites, which will act as niche marketers.

When you set up the marketer, you are setting up 600x600 preview images (without watermark) which are protected in your stock folder. You generate a secret key which is shared between you and your marketer.

When you are set up, they then funnel in the info and previews to generate their own (watermarked) image pages, which link back to your product page.

With all considered, be very careful who you do business with.

So is this a built in function...ie I can use this already on my site ( building of the hub) or will I have have to generate my own code ( I suspect that is the case)

I think this is a great idea... something I was looking for, for awhile.

I'm wrapping up bug-hunting so I can start bringing in the heavy artillery like this.

The hub-site plugin will interact with this easily. It will create central search and qualified people (with marketing ability) can charge what is appropriate to include site's images.

Example: Lets suppose I open a site dedicated to science image, and natural sciences. I call it naturalscienceimg . com or something. Its targeted toward environmentalists, gardening and landscaping companies, etc.

I build up a beautiful site and market it accordingly.

Then, I can charge a monthly fee for inclusion, where your earth science related images are searchable on this site and linked to you. Also it will be able to handle the transaction locally. Of course anyone who runs a program like this has the burden of "coming through" for its contributors.

Second there is PicturEngine which is seeking to get off the ground and may be an answer to the new woes of this business as well as selling direct. They can utilize this and are almost ready to. They have a Symbiostock provision almost complete.

No doubt more things like this will surface, but Symbiostock is ready to take advantage of them.

When I'm done bug-hunting (which is soon) then we can bust out the heavy artillery like this. Its what this whole project has been heading towards.

Ok, pie throwing, mud wrestling, and typical forum debate may now commence :D
