The main UK "free" advertising paper (http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/) is currently offering free online advertising, not sure if it will work for overseas. I have added a couple of ads, they are not showing up yet buy when they do will decide whether to add more. As they last for 28 days thought it was worth trying. As usual competing against all the agencies

Not using Fair Trade no, did not manage to incorporate that into my wording
I emailed a lot of my address book the other week and let them know about the site and asked them to pass it on to anyone and everyone they thought might be interested which bought a lot of additional traffic, and today I am contacting web-designers etc to start getting the word out about us. No point in sitting and waiting I don't think, we need to go out and let potential customers know about us.
I don't do "social networking" maybe will need to start so am trying other methods
How are others going about this ?

By Contacting people you are doing Networking, and if you are a nice person, then it is social...so I am accusing you of " SOCIAL NETWORKING".... ;D :o
I am still trying to find someone to right a press release to send to all the photo news sites... and maybe a template we can all use.... xyz.com is proud to announce they have joined the Symbiostock netwok....

Leo is an amazing person, and great coder ( and nice guy? ( never met him so I don't know for sure)) but I don't think he is a wordsmith.
The same way there are people who are just amazing photographers, there are also people who are amazing with words.
The wordsmiths I know are all busy or not interested in writing what I think we need. Anyone know any wordsmiths?

Some of the posts I have seen from Leo, especially a couple that had dissappeared seem to have come from a wordsmith which is why I asked him :)

I have been thinking ( as I drink my morning tea) and we need two packages.
1 aimed at sellers and 1 aimed at buyers.
I need more caffeine but as a start of headlines:

Exclusive How many people are adding exclusive images ? If we get enough exclusive images this could be a big selling point that the will not find them on agencies so only have to search one place for quality and exclusivity
No minimum purchase
Licences and Images can be adapted - sort of rights managed if they want exclusive use for limited time, depending on image
Editing of images to suit client
Supporting their small (or large) business to support our small (growing) business

and totally off topic but has that man in the advert below really got a jackhammer up his a** which has pushed his head off - makes me shudder every time I see it

Just to let you know: I have only app. 200 photo online on my SY site so far. But almost half of that number is exclusive.
