Title: Google Image Search
Post by: daveh900 on April 03, 2013, 11:33
My site has recently been indexed by Google, however the images have not.

I'm assuming that it's a separate process and may take longer than the web search?

Image search is a separate aspect of google with separate spiders and everything. It usually happens second in my experience.

Thanks for the info Leo!

I'm hoping to see some results on Google image search soon. I've been experimenting with revising some of my work so that the version I upload to my Symbio site is different than what has been uploaded elsewhere. Hopefully, I can get some of my older work that is already online at other stock agencies and indexed with Google to appear in it's new revised form and point to my new site.

Thank you for following that advice on unique content. With my own site I have not been able to unique-ify things due to the exorbitant amount of time I've spent developing the package. But yes, I hope everyone that can follow the advice in the help tab does - it will result in a stronger site.

I needed a break from what I was doing so did a quick google search and these results came up - the site, a picture and my network partners! :)   I hope soon that when I do an image search they will be all my own watermarked pictures that turn up first

Tinny

Thats great - what did you search for? I'm struggling to see my images among all the ones from the other stock agencies that come up.

Start by going here: http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search (http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search)

Search by your domain to see if your images are indexed yet.

Now that is interesting, it seems to searching on the keywords, giving a result such as

stormy Archives | StockImages.Kerioak
stockimages.kerioak.com/search-images/stormy/
you are a little early for the party, I am still in the process of setting everything up and it is not quite ready yet so please feel more than welcome to keep popping ...

and even though it is putting the wording from the bottom of the front page when you click on the link it takes you to category with pictures with "stormy" in them, a definite plus for having categories I imagine.

Thanks for that link Dave - and yes, mine and other peoples show up when I check my site name
