Here's a quick way to create interactive contact sheets that point to your symbio site. (This method takes a lttle bit of html knowledge) After you've uploaded your image.csv to  http://cascoly.com/symbio/symbiostock-network.asp  do a search for the images you want.

Then right click/view source to get the html code containing the image minipix, alt text , captions and direct links to your Symbiostock site.  Cut and paste your images into a new web page and post on your other website.

Quick sample of the results: http://cascoly.com/trav/horses.asp

This thing has really evolved. You've been busy! I'm trying out some features now.

Edit - I really have to get those categories fixed for you.

It is beyond me, cannot get my pictures to appear - are my categories still screwing it up?

Leo, is it possible to add to image info csv, when image was uploaded? This will allow one more option in search engines - newest first :)

when you say image.csv, is that the same as symbiocard.csv? If not, where do I find my image.csv?

edit: I went to your site, clicked on Add Your Images, entered my url. A list of 200+ of my images came up. But when I look in the database, I still only see 4 of my images.

Any chance you can explain how to do this? Starting from when you say images.csv, where does one find that? You say in your post above "upload your images.csv file". Can you explain exactly how to do that?

I'm still struggling a bit with this - but I think it is the searching on the site, not the uploading. To upload your images, go to the section on the landing page of the cascoly site called "For SYmbiostock Members" and choose add your images. Simply enter the URL for the home page of your stock site, and click update image database. A new screen will show all the new images being found and added to the database.

This is where I then have issues, and perhaps you are finding the same. If I search for certain of my images by using one of their keywords in the "Network Images" box, it is still hit and miss for me. Some images are found - "cicada" picks up some new images uploaded a day or two back. However, searching for "bengal" or "kitten" comes up with nothing from my site. However, the same words in the search keywords box finds the right images on my site.

So, I suspect there is something in searching by keywords that isn't finding everything yet?

Yep, I did the steps you said. Just tried another search, using List Images with keywords Animals. None of mine show up, and I did those steps early this morning. Maybe it takes a while for them to show in the database?

they'll show up immediately in the db

the file you need is the one buried at the bottom f the network page that says 'update image csv'  that creates the file on your site that we need

as far as specific keywords that aren't being found, please lt mw know (I've got the ones listed so far) since the should be ret8rning your images

right now the keyword searches for anything containing the string you input -- ill be adding other options shortly after I get home on monday

but where is that file and how do we upload to your site? I checked the box "update image csv" but I don't where the file is actually at.

you don't need to upload the file itself (it lives in the root directory as symbiostock_image_info.csv)  but to add to the db you just need to enter your site name after you update the file o your site

I think I found the search problem -- it looks like the keyword strings are being vcut short - so anything after 255 characters is left out, so I suspect the missing images have those keywords  farther out in the string.  the db uses a 255 limit to increase speed,  but that doesn't seem to be a problem, so i'll fix it to include all keywords and will re-run your images into the db

Steve, I was trying to add my images, but your code crashes on this image:
http://ajotte.com/image/gdansk/
I intentionally placed "" in description and keywords to test my uploader, it had troubles too :)

I updated by images.csv card just now. Entered my site url in your website, and I still don't see any of my images in the animals section and i added that keyword to all my animal images a day or two ago. I now see 10 of my food images, but I have hundreds.

ok, the image update is working again using xmls  from http://cascoly.com/symbio/symbiostock-network.asp

for the moment you still need to enter your site there, but my next step is to automatically collect symbiocards, and then i';ll be able to automate image & keyword collection too

I tried  to enter image csv for those above who were having problems, but looks like they need to run a new image csv/xml  (which requires 2.4.4)

Quick sample of the results: http://cascoly.com/trav/horses.asp

all active sites are in the database now along with the image info -- from here on, they'll e updated automatically, but you can still update your site if you like
