Title: Now... a question about "similar images"
Post by: marthamarks on August 11, 2013, 17:36
OK, folks. I've got "Similar Images" showing up on my image pages now. Giant leap forward!

BUT... in most cases the "similars" really aren't. I see the connection in most cases, but it not always obvious.

For an example, look at this image:

http://bestnaturestock.com/image/coyote-upright-stock-photo/ (http://bestnaturestock.com/image/coyote-upright-stock-photo/)

The similar elements in most (but not all) of the "similars" on that page are: "snow" or "juniper tree" or "high desert". But I'd rather have those "similars" be my other coyote images. Is there a way to make that happen? Or are the choices for "similars" purely random based on an odd keyword or other?

Advice please, O Wise Ones!  :-*

Use Plrang plugin with the master keyword

Use Plrang plugin with the master keyword

Aha! So I put in the master keyword I want, and Plrang's plugin does the rest?

Genius!!!

I'll try it and get back with a report ASAP.

Thank you.

Yes, that is working. Whew! A lot learned this afternoon.

I've still got raccoons, bears, and what-have-you showing up in my "similars" on the coyote pages, but now I understand that if I put different Master Tags on those critters' image pages, they'll show up where I want 'em and go away where I don't want 'em.

This has been extremely helpful to me. I hope (and bet) it will help somebody else over this learning curve as well.

Again, thank you.
