Title: Visitor behavior
Post by: Nikd90 on July 09, 2013, 01:52
Is there a way to check the behavior of visitors - how did they reach the website
- how much time did they spend
- what did they search to reach the website
- how many times did they click when the arrived

There is a wealth of info available if you link your website with google analytics and webmaster tools (all free)

Yoast WordPress SEO is a must-have WP plugin and the Wordfence plugin is neat to watch real-time what happening on your site.

Be prepared for a steep learning curve, though, if you're a newbie to all this like I was just two months ago  ;)

Thanks installed. Just got one registration. Looked like a genuine registration but didn't buy anything so sent an email to check if any issue with the email/account.

I am using google analytics but that doesn't show how the traffic is coming, what search was used etc. I have installed word fence. Thanks

I see few crawlers. Mostly from mountainview, which is google. There are couple from Ukraine and Denver. Any idea what are these?
Sorry for asking silly questions

Some people take a few hours to decide if they want a picture.  If they were not a genuine registration you have just given someone your email address.

Try the plug-in Anti-Captcha, the only people I have had registering since I installed this have been buyers and other members of the Symbiostock community, stopped all those robot registrations dead

I am using this captcha thing in contact form. I think you only suggested this to me on another thread. Will try this anti-captcha as well

You don't need both - the good thing about anti-captcha is that it works invisibly. No form to fill out, which often messes with the format of the registration form.

Thanks Steve. Will check the anti-captcha and then will disable the one in contact form
