I see a new list appearing on the Marketing tab and I have no promoted keywords. How do I add some in there? And can you explain what the Promote, Exclude and Delete columns on the right are for, and when and why should I check the boxes? Thanks.

Promoted key words , add on network page

Promoted , everyone currently promoted , acording to Leo
Exclude or delete sites from your directory, could be useful if you do not like what someone is doing/offering/whatever
Setings all disappear when updating page, or did, not checked current version.

Thanks, I knew I saw it somewhere. I added some promoted keywords, rescanned the network, updated the public network info, yet no keywords show. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know what you mean by this. The punctuation is throwing me off.  :(

Tablet has a mind of its own with spelling etc I try and get it right

Keywords take about 24 hours to appear not everything is immediate now as it spreads across the network

There is a bug whereby you have to resave your exclusions ie delete or ignore every time you refresh marketing page

Punctuation was. correct, I have not checked bug current version

That doesn't happen to me! What I save as excluded stays that way.

Also if you look just over the save button, you have the "Update public network info" checkbox. After doing that. That will save all of your current status (including your promoted keywords) to the symbiocard...then if you want to see if "it took" you can hasten up the process just by going to your marketing tab and see if they took.

Know what you mean.

I will look tomorrow and see if they show up. Thanks!

several sites still don't have any promoted keywords set, and for the rest there are just over 600 keywords used, with a lot of duplication.  so there's a lot of room to find keywords npo one else is using

ok, that's pretty much what I thought was happening -- however, in that case what does the 'promoted' box in the marketing page list do?

also, when a search is done on several words, do both have to be in someone's promoted keyword list in order for that site to get shown?  that would greatly reduce the number of times any promoted site gets accessed.  or if only one word is promoted, is there a search on that site for the other word in combination with the promoted word

eg, if the search is for 'india' and 'elephant' , and i'm not in the networked list at that site, would it still show my images because I promote 'india' and have images that satisfy the 2 keywords?

good question! Never thought of all these implications. I have a few compounded promoted keywords such as "northern lights". I now wonder if those work at all given the difficulties searching for compounded keywords our sites still have. Guess I'd do some testing and optimizing promoted keywords accordingly  ???
