As mentioned previously, I'm setting up another Symbiostock for somebody who is on Bluehost and for some strange reason the HTTP uploader window is not showing anymore.
Instead I get this message: You browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support.
It worked fine before the update, no changes have been made to the computer. Now the user can only upload the files via FTP. It's not a deal breaker but slight inconvenience.
Is there anything I can do to get the HTTP uploader back?
Thanks in advance!

That was happening with a recent Symbio theme update too. The solution was to go to Appearance / Themes and deactivate Symbiostock by activating any other theme then reactivate Symbiostock. Toggle the themes like that and it should return.

Nope

I originally had this problem too. I remember that Leo switched the upload directory to solve the problem.

I noticed that the upload directory of my friend's Symbiostock site is different than mine.
Hmm maybe Leo is around to chime in ::)

What version number are you installing? Have you tested with another browser just to rule out any weirdness there?

First install and currently running Symbiostock 2.5.5.
Upgraded Wordpress yesterday to 3.6 - the uploader worked before.
Now the uploader is not running on both Firefox and IE. Didn't test any other browsers.
Maybe I should run the new 2.5.6 Symbiostock update and see if it helps...?

I happened across this thread, and I just updated my main site to 3.6 and the uploader still works for me.
To resolve this you can deactivate the theme (by activating a default one like 2012 or 2013) and then reactivate it. That runs the installer, which sets up the correct folder structure.
If it still doesn't work let me know.

Same here, running 2.5.5 and the uploader was working. When I tried to install 2.5.6 the uploader didn't work, so I went back to the older version. Just installed Wordpress 3.6 and am now having the uploader issue again.
Tried deactivating and activating the theme, however this did not help.
Anything we can do to help debug? I can post my phpinfo and sever details of that helps.

If you've done all the mentioned things and its still not working, then the new version of WP might be sabotaging the uploader. I know working on the premium version, 3.6 hijacked much of my javascript and I had to rewrite much of it.
Please feel free to set me up leo [at] symbiostock.com as an admin and I can look into it.

PS - there's always FTP as well.

Same issue here, FTP works fine still

Leo,
I set you up as an admin, so whenever you have a moment to take a look that would be great.
Thanks!

FTP didn't work for me with 2.5.6. However, it does seem to work just fine now with 2.5.5 and WP 3.6. So at least I have a workaround.

Yours is all set now.
http://stock.kelleherphoto.com (http://stock.kelleherphoto.com) it would not let me delete the theme without asking me to provide passwords and such. But your using 2.5.5
If you like I can post my latest version which is a few versions beyond whats been pubilcally released (we are still making it look good) but if you don't mind waiting a bit longer you'll have the latest which is far more refined.

My friend's uploader is working now. Did you fix it Leo?
What did you do? Magi wand or something?
-
I just updated to latest

Thanks so much for your help. I can wait for the latest version to be released.

The uploader is back but after the upload, when I click on Process images I get this error message:
No matching image files found. You may have named them incorrectly. Fix problem and re-upload. This file has been removed. Example: "my_stock_art.eps" or "my_stock_art.zip" must have accompanying ""my_stock_art.jpg" to be considered a valid set/file.
This happens regardless of using the HTTP uploader or FTP uploads.
However, the image does get processed and I can push it live. Just weird to get this error message.
Note: this is on my friend's web site and not mine.
-
Look into upload folder, maybe there is a file with extension other that jpg/png. It will give "No matching..." message. There should be only two files: upload.php and .htaccess, don't remove them :)

This might happen because there is an image file with a period/dot (.) in the filename (in addition to the one at the end for the extension).

Also, I get this error sometimes if an image size exceeds 10mb. I have this in my php.ini file: upload_max_filesize = 30M, but I still get the error. I just downsize a tad until it is below 10mb then it uploads fine.

Thanks Andrzej, you nailed it. For some reason there was an error log in there from the get go and that caused the issue.
I should have figured it out on my own but sometimes you can't seem to see the forest because of all the trees... ::)
Thanks again!

I didn't have files with that issue uploaded. But thank you for your input! Much appreciated!

Hmm, I will keep an eye on that in the future and think of your solution. Thanks for the tip!
