Title: I've broken it - login/register option at top goes to EULA I think
Post by: Kerioak~Christine on April 07, 2013, 03:42
I seem to have broken the log-in/register link at the top of the page.  I have added another log in for now but the drop down that everyone else gets seems to go to the EULA in a different page for me

I have the most recent download and am using child theme.  If anyone has any ideas as to what I might have done I would appreciate hearing them - and yes, I know I have broken it - again!

When I look at it in Firebug it says

<li class="login_register" data-target="#symbiostock_member_modal" data-toggle="modal">
<a href="http://stockimages.kerioak.com/end-user-license-agreement/" title="Login / Register">
</li>

But so do most others seem to refer to the EULA when I look at theirs and they get the login/register dropdown page

http://stockimages.kerioak.com/wp-login.php (http://stockimages.kerioak.com/wp-login.php) <- the direct route.

Did you install any plugins that messed up your site?

I have Slideshow and Wordpress SEO and Contact form 7 active - it is not desperate so I can ask others, you are not supposed to be here :)

Don't feel bad, I have done this several times. Some of the things to try: deactivate the theme, then re-activate. When you do that, all of the things that are pre-programmed in, like the log-in and register thingy, will correct itself (I think). But I also notice that it creates a new EULA page whenever I do that. I think it's because I made a change to the spelling Licence > License, but all the links are working OK to that new one, so I just delete the new one it creates.

I am just looking at mine, and I don't why I have a Please Log In and a Login/Register too. That seems redundant. I'm going to have to have a look at that. I'll probably break it again if I change something.

It appears that one can login using either Login/Register or Please Log In, so I guess I will leave those alone, but I have question under this topic...

when I login, I am taken to the Customer License page. I would like to go to Home. On what page or how can I fix that?

FOUND MY PROBLEM

I wanted my name and Leo's/Symbiostock in the footer (not wordpress) so I edited the footer then loaded it in the child theme - that worked but it appears it broke the login page.

I really do not have a clue what I am doing and is all trial and error  :)

It would be cool to be able to drop footer.php in the child theme and not have it break the page.
