Title: Image Only Upload | Not SYS related
Post by: Redneck on July 18, 2013, 09:07
This doesn't have anything to do with Symbiostock but since we have very tech savvy people here I hope you don't mind if I pop that question anyway.

I'd like to pull a local file folder with at least one sub folder into a web folder inside Filezilla.
However, I want Filezilla (or any other recommended client) to filter the files to be uploaded and only upload .jpg files while ignoring raw and xmp files.

Is that possible? Any suggestions?

Why not sort them by type so you can easily select the jpgs

Because it's too much work.
I'd like to select multiple folders and simply drag them to the webfolder while hoping that Filezilla will create all those folders but upload only the JPGs in it.

I'm not sure what O/S you are on, but in Windows you can do a search at the top-level directory for *.jpg, then select all (Ctrl-A) of the results, and then paste them as shortcuts (Alt-E, S) into a new temporary folder.  This new folder will then contain shortcuts (or pointers) to the original files.  You can then use this temporary folder to upload in FileZilla.

Thanks but I want to keep the folder structure.
I'd like to have the same folders created on the webspace because the titles contain information I need to locate files.

Found it. A tool called Goodsync will do just what I want after setting a filter to include JPG files only.
