Well, I installed OneAll Social Login a while ago. The setup was easy, as Cathy said, but I can't tell if the social links are working there or not.

Anybody want to give it a try and let me know? I'd appreciate that.

My SYS work-in-progress site is: http://bestnaturestock.com/

Thanks in advance!

I don't see any social sites as a login option on your register/login page or popup.

Something still needs to be configured it seems...

Interesting.

But Login with PayPal needs an integration and probably wont work with a plugin like that. PayPal is way too secure to just let people use their login outside PayPal

https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/classic/products/log-in-with-paypal/
https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/integration/direct/log-in-with-paypal/

I am really hoping Leo will integrate this into the Premium Version

Would you really log into an unknown site using your paypal details?  Sounds a bit like logging in using your bank details, no way would I do that.  Then again I am one of those people who only logs into sites using that site's details so probably unusual in this respect :)

I agree, but then it doesnt make sense for it to be available if paypal doesnt allow it.

Edit: in an attempt to test it, i just discovered none of those social buttons work on my ipad. Hmmm. Will take another look tonight.

If it needs integration and I can't integrate using my own account, why would it work if Leo integrates it? Is it more secure if Leo adds it than if I add it? Doesnt make sense that the person who created the plug-in would even take the time to put it in, write up the detailed instructions, etc. if Paypal didnt allow it. I must just have a setting wrong.

As far as using my paypal account to login on a strange site...I wouldnt use ANY of my accounts to log in this way. But it doesnt seem to stop a whole lot of other people from doing it.  :)

I have disabled that button in the meantime.

first of all, if it wasnt safe, paypal wouldnt offer that option,

second, I meant its not working on a WP plugin, it has to be integrated on your website. thats why leo has to built it into symbiostock, however, if you can integrate it yourself, it will work too. Of course

FB registration worked at Cathy's site.
What I wouldn't like is the fact that you depend on another website (oneall.com) to make it work.

I have disabled the Social Login plugin by OneAll (though they did make it handy...I just had reservations about having a third party intermediary) and switched to Wordpress Social Login (thanks Carsten). This plugin was just as simple and doesnt involve anyone else. I am only going to include FB and Twitter for now, though.

I was seeing more registrations with the Social Login plugin, but no sales from that.

Cathy, I just tried to register on your site via the WSL and didn't find any way to do that (except the standard SYS login). No social network icons showed up on the registration page. Do you have that set up on your site now?

This is especially interesting since I decided to follow in your tracks in this. Was having problems with the OneAll login system and never got it to work. So after reading your post above, I tried the Wordpress Social Login and Yes!!! I got it to work with both FB and Twitter. I was able to successfully test-login via each one.

With Google, however, no luck. I filled out their form just as I had with FB & T, but when I tried to save it I got this snarky error message: "Cheatin uh?"

Wow! That was a real smack across the face. I repeated the copy-and-paste ID and Secret codes routine, saved again, and got the same message. It doesn't even give me an explanation of why the snarky error message was generated.

Now, would that be WSL providing the snark or Google? I'm guessing it's WSL, but whoever it was, I really didn't appreciate it.

Any thoughts about how this problem might be solved?  If I can get past this sticking point with Google, I'll be delighted to recommend WSL to all SYSers.

I deleted the plugin in an attempt to solve my missing uploader problem. I will add it back later.

Martha, I tried to login to your site via FB and you still have it in sandbox mode so its not available to me. I've attached a screenshot...in the Basic Settings, you change it.

I then tried Twitter and it worked like a charm.  :)

Thanks, Cathy, for doing that! I saw your Twitter registration come in. Nice that they send a notice.

I forgot that FB was just in sandbox mode. Guess it's time to switch to live. I really appreciate your alerting me to that.

FB login appears now to be live and working on my site. And this time, the Google setup worked too. No snarky response to the same info that I input this time. Go figure!

I was able to log in both ways to my site, so I'm pretty sure it's all set up. But if anybody else out there is willing to do a test login for me (using FB or Google), I'd really appreciate knowing the plugin works for sure.

Thanks to all for the fine community assistance!

Yes, both FB and google seem to be working. I did not go through with registering though. What I don't like is that I don't get to choose which FB account I get to log in with...I don't want to log in with my personal FB account but I would be ok with logging in with cathyslifestockphotos FB page. Same with google. So I backed out of those.

I also would NEVER login this way, on any site, because here is what this plugin is asking when logging in with FB (screenshot attached). I looked around on FB for a setting like Twitter has, the "read only" setting, but didn't see one.  :(

Cathy, thanks soooo much for giving me feedback again. I don't blame you for backing out.

Does anybody know a way to allow loggers-in to pick which account is being used? This seems like a problem that's going to affect us all if there's no way to change that.

The developer of the WSL plugin provides a way to contact him. I think I'll do that tomorrow and raise this issue with him. There might be a simple fix. Or not. But we do need to know because it would be a sweet login system if we could straighten that problem out.

Thanks again, Cathy!

Hi

I just installed the Social Login plugin on http://stockimages.glennspecht.com/wp/

Can people give it a quick test?

It was a bit of work and I am still not sure about using this one, but, so far, I have not had any problems.

What I like the most about this plug is being able to use the same settings on different WP sites ( right now I have 4)

Hi Martha....Just saw this.  It uses whichever FB account (if user has multiple accounts) that the user trying to log-in is signed into at the time.  If a user wants to log-in using a different account they first need to go to FB and log into the account they want then come back to log in to your site.

I was just able to login using my Twitter account with no issues. I first tried with my wordpress.com account and entered my user name, as it says, and I kept getting an error that said "you don't own that identity." I do, because I am logged into my wordpress.com account. But I don't think that is an issue with your setting up the Social Login, it's probably something between oneall and Wordpress.
