In an attempt to see if requiring registration is stopping me from getting sales, I have just installed and set up the Social Login plugin. I have tried it myself and seems to work, but was wondering if anyone else would be willing to give it a try? You can use your, facebook, twitter, linkedin, yahoo, google, github, foursquare, wordpress, paypal, windows live or blogger account. I would be particularly interested in finding out if logging in with paypal works...when I tried it, it said I couldnt login right now. I took that to mean it might work, just not right now.

By the way, I really like the Social Login plugin and its interface. Very easy to set up and the instructions were easy to follow.

I tried the paypal one and got the same error.

And trying to login using twitter showed me this

[Site:cathyslifestockphotos] Could not connect to Twitter

Please verify the Twitter configuration of your Site.
If you are the owner of cathyslifestockphotos, you can fix this error here: Setup Twitter Configuration

For debugging purposes I'm on IE10 though I could try with firefox if you'd like.

*edit*

Just so you know I have my IE browser set to block all pop ups if that's causing the problem.  The way I get around it is tell it to allow once then it opens in a new page then I right click then open it up in a new tab.

I just logged in using Facebook and it worked fine.  I tried adding an image to the cart and it took me to the download area but it did not show the image however it did show up when clicked on my cart in the upper right to refresh the page.

I like the one you're using because it's got the line saying you can log in using those options.  I set up a different one and while it's got the icons on the registration page it doesn't tell you that you can log in using those.

Same as you couldn't log in with PayPal (same reason), but it let me log in using FB.
I added an image to my cart but had to refresh the File Management page for it to show up.
Deleted the image from the cart.
Added a different image and it showed up in the cart Ok.

PS
edit your signature WP is gone.

Google, Wordpress.com and Yahoo all worked for me.  I got the same error message for Twitter and Paypal.

You guys are awesome! I got notification emails too. and it noted which social icon you used.

Re: twitter...I will go fix that. I misunderstood and thought I had to set it up if I wanted to login using it. I didn't understand it meant for anyone. The wording doesnt make that clear. Facebook did the same thing but I went through the steps. So glad it's working ok.

I will have to look into paypal too.

Thanks so much!

Thanks Steve. I don't know what you mean by the PS though. Can you explain?

I think Steve was talking about your Warm Picture link in your MSG signature.  I also thought he was referring to Word Press.

I tried to register on your site via  Twitter but was turned off by this warning:

••••
Authorize cathyslifestockphotos to use your account?

This application will be able to:

    Read Tweets from your timeline.
See who you follow, and follow new people.
    Update your profile.
    Post Tweets for you.

Haven't tried FB or PP or any other. But I must say: I can't imagine anybody signing in w/Twitter knowing they're letting you update their profile and post tweets for them.

Am I understanding this wrong? If not, that whole thing seems nuts!

I figured out that I needed to go through a whole registration thing with all of the social places. I thought it seemed to easy! Anyway, they all should be set up now. I am off to try Paypal and some of the others.

Thanks again for your help. If anyone has time to try again, that would be excellent...now that I have them all set up.

I did not have them all set up so they all should work now. I have hesitated about doing this until now, because I understood it the same way as you are. But I am not a big social media fan. But there are a bazillion people out there who think this is the way to go, so I'm just giving it a whirl.

As far as tweeting on someone elses account... I don't even have time to do my own.

But the only way they can use their account is by giving up the info and allowing access. They don't have to if they don't want to. I'm just providing the choices.

Your setup must be different from ours on Twitter. See the difference between your authorisation screen and ours:

Hmm. Maybe I should check some settings? I looked around...I don't know what to change. I don't see anything that is checked that allows those things. <sigh> it's never easy.  :(

So, Cathy, did your login end up looking like PictureMojo's? Because that would not scare me off. Your original one did.

I'll go try it again to see how it's set now.

Cathy, this time it worked! I got the same "comfortable" login that PictureMojo showed. And I registered for your site without even having to provide my Twitter tag. Wow, that was quick and easy!

I'm going to try this on my own site. Thanks for being a trailblazer!
