I uploaded to WP 3.6 a few days ago and uploaded images after that just fine. Today I uninstalled Social Login plugin and installed Wordpress Social Login. I was just getting ready to upload some images, and my uploader is gone, with the usual message "You browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support." Yes, it even comes with the first word misspelled.  ::)

I know there are a couple of other threads about this. I read through them. I did everything that was suggested. I updated to what I thought was 2.5.6 (downloaded from symbiostock.com page...it says I am downloading 2.5.6 but in the themes details it still says 2.5.5 so I actually have no clue which version it is). So after I installed that update, I toggled on and off. Still no uploader. I deleted the plugin I installed today. Still no uploader. I deactivated 2.5.6 and activated twenty twelve. I deleted the 2.5.6 theme and reinstalled 2.5.5. Then I activated that theme. Then I de-activated and re-activated again. Then I activated my child theme. Still no uploader.

One thread ends with Leo saying, "Plrang solved this. Fix available soon" here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-technical-support/upload-doesn%27t-work/

Is there a fix? if there is, can someone please post the fix here so EVERYONE can see how to solve this problem?

Here is the other thread: http://www.microstockgroup.com/symbiostock-technical-support/http-uploader-disappeared-after-wordpress-3-6-upgrade/

The solution for Carsten, it looks like, was to have Leo update to the latest. Is this latest FIX available to everyone? If so, why can't it be found on symbiostock.com? If anyone has this latest version that fixes this bug, can you please PM me and I will tell you where to email the file?

I believe the fix was posted here:

https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock/pull/6/files#diff-0

Basically, you need to replace two files:

inc/classes/uploader.php
inc/rf-custom-post-functions.php

I haven't tried this yet (since I haven't had the need), so please make backups of the files before you replace them.

Mine disappear too but I also got it back.  I'm using SY 2.5.6 and WP 3.6.

I went to my themes activated Default.  I then went back and activated SY then I went back and activated the Child theme and my uploader showed back up.

That's what I did just in case you wanted to try that again before changing core files.

Yeah, tried that three times...no luck. But thanks. Maybe I will try it one more time after while before using Shazams fix.

And where do I find the two files that I need to replace what I have with? Or can I add what is in green (+) (when I click on the github link above) and delete what is in red (-)? If that's the fix, I can do that.

You can either click the "View File" link to view the file and then copy the code to a new file, or remove the red and replace it with the green.

There might be a way to download the files, but I don't know how.

I use Filezilla rather than the internal uploader - it means I cannot accidentally close the page when updating

Glad it worked out for you.  I'm also glad that you were able to confirm the fix since I think that you are the first one to actually use it.

I have not had that issue yet, but will keep it in mind. I do my ftp-ing through dreamweaver, tho. Thanks for the suggestion, Christine!

I accidentally closed it a few times which is why I switched to ftp-ing   :D
