I noticed today, that several sites have empty files
symbiostock_image_info.csv
and
symbiostock_image_info.xml
These sites are:
dogfordstudios.com
flashstockphoto.com
picture5479.com
stockphotology.com
wojciechrzasa.pl
I am trying to find the reason, so question to owners:
Did you install any new plugins lately?
If so, could you go to Symbiostock->network, check "Update public image info", click Save and try to examine that files, if they are still empty?
Then maybe deactivate any plugins you have installed, and try again.
If you are not familiar with these files:
To get them, simply type in your browser
your_site_address/symbiostock_image_info.xml
something like in this example:
http://ajotte.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://ajotte.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml)
You should get long info about all your images.

Thanks iwill check it when i get home

Just opened a thread, sorry haven't seen yours.
I updated to WP 3.6, I guess I updated the Captcha plugin.
But I just remembered that I recently installed Social Media Plugin, which puts a small twitter icon on each image page ... perhaps that is disturbing something?
-
I don't think so, but deactivate them and try again, you will know.
Is there any site with WP 3.6 and without this problem?
-
I haven't installed any new plugins installed for a while.
The http://stockphotology.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://stockphotology.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml) file is empty.
For information and in case there's a common theme, my installed/activated plugins are:
- All In One WP Security v2.1.1
- Anti-Captcha 20130504
- Bad Behavior 2.2.14
- Contact Form 7 3.4.2
- Disqus Comment System 2.74
- Jetpack by WordPress.com 2.3.3
- Meteor Slides 1.5.1
- NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati 2.0.0
- Related Posts By Taxonomy 0.1.1
- SYMBIOSTOCK - Emails and Notifications 1.0.0
- SysInfo 1.1.0
- UK Cookie Consent 1.4.2
- Wordfence Security 3.8.1
- WordPress SEO 1.4.13
- WP Mail From II 1.0.1
- WP Super Cache 1.3.2
Akismet is installed but inactive.
NextGen and All in One WP Security were upgraded this weekend.
I'm cooking dinner at the moment 8) so I'll do a systematic plugin check later unless someone finds the culprit in the meantime.

Deactivated Social Media Feather plugin and still get this warnings when I try to update public image info:

I updated wp to WP 3.6 and no problem.
I don't think so, but deactivate them and try again, you will know.
Is there any site with WP 3.6 and without this problem?
-
I updated up to 3.6 wp. I can still find my images on your search engine
-
If 3.6 has introduced a new problem or Symbiostock has a problem let me know and I'll fix it. Keep me posted :D
-
Actually the most recent change i did yesterday was to install imagmajik

I haven't installed imagmajik ... so problem seems to be located somewhere else.

Search engine has your old image info, but can't get it today, because it is empty now. Try now to update this info. Have you messages like jsfoto?
-
Home in about an hour, will try then
-
Temporarily deactivated the following plugins:
Anti-Captcha, Captcha, BackUpWordPress and Wordfence
No difference ... I allways get the same warnings.
-
Maybe edit several last images and make them draft for a while. Then try again without them.
And (even if warnings will be) try to get xml file.
These warnings "Missing argument..." should not appear in typical php settings.
-
Wordfence Security has a "fake search engine" lockers etc. - I'd start there
-
ajt: Do you know when you stopped receiving this info from those sites? Did they all stop on the same day? Or did they stop at separate times?
-
Ok i updated and got this:
Network info updated.
Image info info updated.
So, it all seemed to update ok...............
However, I then tried to do the http://picture5479.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://picture5479.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml)
and got this:
Clicking on the purple images does nothing. What should I do know?
-
I'm betting this is a 3.6 thing. I'll check on it right now before getting back to work.

I haven't updated to 3.6 yet.

http://www.clipartillustration.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://www.clipartillustration.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml)
I just regenerated it and everything looks fine. I'm running 3.6
The fairest approach to the problem is to deactivate all plugins, run the operation, and see what happens.
If it crashes with no other plugins going, we're down to two things:
1. Symbiostock
2. Host
Keep me posted.
-
Dogfordstudios.com - I don't see anything wrong with my site on my end. Still getting spam so it must be working for someone (spammers)
I've been away and haven't done anything except upload a few images. Haven't gone to 3.6 WP because I wanted to check here first for any problems.
-
6 files are missing for me. To be on the safe side I just set the last 7 files to draft ... but I still get the same warnings.

Ok deactivated all plugins and it now shows loads of data in the http://picture5479.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://picture5479.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml)
So i guess its down to reactivating plugins until i find a conflict

Does the next gen gallery need to be activated? or can i run without it?

I just deactivated NextGenGallery xml and csv has content now.

Seems to be the nextgen gallery..........Would this be because I changed from gd livrary to imagemajick yesterday?
I highly doubt it.
Does the next gen gallery need to be activated? or can i run without it?
No, it isn't required by Symbiostock.
I dont know what it does
The NextGen Gallery is used for creating slideshows (see here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery/ (http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery/))
Which version are you using?
-
Warnings are still there...
Did you make any code changes? Or download any "fixes" from GitHub?

using version 2, if I've solved the problem then I guess I'm happy. I hope jsfoto manages to solve theirs

I guess my public image info is working fine, as the files aren't empty any more ... not sure about the warnings ... perhaps there are problems I didn't even notice :(
-
Deactivating NextGen fixed it for me too.
It was fine until the plugin update in the last few days.
To the code wizards amongst you - if I send a bug report to the NextGen developers, do you have any idea what the plugin interfered with (other than me saying that NextGen buggered my image_info.XML file)?
-
separate issue - many folks haven't filled in all their personal data -- specialty, focus, etc which provide yet another way to be found

The warnings from jsphoto sparked a memory for me. They are related to a change in the WP API. This change was made in 3.5, so it's curious that they're just showing up now. Perhaps the upgrade to 3.6 turned on the warnings flag. When it is off these warnings don't show up.
The wpdb->prepare method now requires arguments that it did not in the past. The following link describes this.
http://make.wordpress.org/core/2012/12/12/php-warning-missing-argument-2-for-wpdb-prepare/ (http://make.wordpress.org/core/2012/12/12/php-warning-missing-argument-2-for-wpdb-prepare/)
Heads up to Leo. This will need to be changed in the symbiostock code. The warning messages are just that, warnings. The code still works but the warnings are to let the developer know that they need to revisit their API calls.
I don't know if this had anything to do with the missing data files. I haven't had a chance to look into the symbiostock code myself yet, so I can't say. But the warnings aren't saying that things have failed, so I doubt it.
-
Found it yesterday. The prepare medthod just like you say. Fixed it.

Nextgen was the issue for me. Deactived it and the http://dogfordstudios.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml (http://dogfordstudios.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml) started to have date in it again.
