Hi

My symbiostock site looks totally different on desktop vs laptop. It doesn't look good on laptop at all. I can't understand this. Also, I don't know how to correct it.

Can anyone help?
Thanks
Mark

I took a look at your site from my laptop and desktop and it looked the same.

Can you be a little more specific?  What (specifically) doesn't look good on the laptop that does look good on the desktop?

I just looked on my tablet nd my desktop and they also look the same. I am confused why you have the Categories where they are located. It is very distracting for me and I have to go down to see any samples of your photographs.

It seems to look like this on my desktop as well. Also, your footer (?) columns are not side by side but below each other. All in all it gives a somewhat garbled appearance. No idea, though, why. What have you done?

On both my laptop and desktop, they look like the second image (with the huge list of categories).

same here - just the list of categories on my desktop

looks like this is a home page and there's a categories widget in 'home above content'

           <div class="home-above-content"><aside id="nav_menu-2" class="widget widget_nav_menu"><div class="menu-main-menu-container"><ul id="menu-main-menu-1" class="menu"><li id="menu-item-2997" class="menu-item menu-item-type-custom menu-item-object-custom current-menu-item current_page_item menu-item-home menu-item-2997">Home</li>

That's how they look to me, on both desktop and laptop. I've visited your site a couple of time before and know it wasn't like this then. Clearly, something has changed, but I'm not savvy enough to suggest what it is.

Nor am i,
These are the things I've done recently

Changed GD library to Imagemajick
Deactivated Nextgen gallery as it was interfereing with the network
Instal Symbioxtra plugin

ok I tried reactivating nextgen - no difference
Also tried deactivating symbioxtra - no difference

I'm lost now as to what to do...............

Looks like you have a menu widget on your homepage.  Check your widgets, you don't need to include a menu widget since the menu itself is already there.

It will be difficult for me to do any troubleshooting for you, but I will say that the SY template was not scalable for tablets, etc. which is the main reason I went to the Clean Theme child theme. Amanda wrote in responsive code so things would scale correctly for phone and tablet.

That lower one looks like the mobile menu, activated. Do you have the mobile menu widget installed somewhere?

As everyone has said thats most likely the mobile menu. You may have attached it to a widget area. Still it should not be dropping down like that, which may be an HTML error?

First off you should check your widgets and settings, then we'll know where to go.
