I updated to 1.3.3 yesterday. I uploaded a bunch of images after that, and all went well. I just uploaded 10 more images tonight. I went to my online site, hit refresh and my home button just disappeared out of the main menu. The only change I made to the main menu right now is to add an image category.

If I title my home page Home, that word appears above slider. I don't want that. So I just left the title blank. When I did that, the word Home disappeared from the main menu but the house was still there. I was ok with that, since most people recognize a house as Home.

How can I get this back? I have already tried adding the word Home back as the title and refreshing, but the menu item does not come back.

Ok I got it back. I have NEVER, in all this time, had a menu item named Home in my main menu under Appearance>Menus. It has just always shown up in my main menu.

I have it back, but the only way to keep it in the menu is to use the word Home as a page title. I don't want the word Home to appear above my slider. How can I fix this?

Use one of the Home Page templates, they don't show the title.

I am using Home Page CTA

Sorry, you're right, it's only the Home Page simple which doesn't show the title. I thought we'd had that with the others too.

I think you can just use the option to create a custom Menu item by pasting in your home url and naming it Home.

I know where it went Cathy - I have it!    I have never had a home button - it just went to the front page, now it goes to a blank page.  No idea what I have done

I will try that tonight. I am baffled as to why it all just happened.

Oh no! Do you think it has something to do with updating to 1.3.3? Wonder if we should put it in the bug thread.

I didnt do anything in css, all i did was add an image category menu item to my menu. I am fairly certain i did not do anything wrong. If i added someting to the main menu, i can see where it might have made something too wide and then dropped something off, like Home, but that is not the case either.

Wordpress will put a default menu in for you before you create or set up your own and this will have the Home menu item.  Once you add items to a custom menu and assign it the default menu disappears, so unless you have added "Home" back in with your other menus it will not be there.

Cathy, if my solution above doesn't work message me and I can help you take off the title on the home page!

But the default menu has been there all this time, despite my having a custom menu. I will message you tonight or tomorrow night to get it fixed. This is finals week so between having to work (which always gets in the way!) and finals, I am a little swamped. Thanks for your help.
