I'm starting to think bug-bashing is half the fun of Symbiostock. I fear if I fix too much we'll never have an excuse to keep the spirit alive! I think I'll  just start adding some new ones just to keep people interested.
Glad to see things working. Like, really really glad.

Kenny from clipartof.com pointed out a bug that I totally have put on the backburner, and it reminds me of another menu bug.

When you position your mouse just right, the menu starts jumping: http://kga.me/screengrab/video/symbio-dropdown-menu-issue/symbio-dropdown-menu-issue.html

You've probably noticed that.

Yet another one - maybe you've seen it: when you have a dropdown menu, the root of which is also a link, when you get to the active page the menu will be "dark", that is, the text will inherit the darker text-change of the root menu. Simple CSS and Javascript fixes if anyones feeling up to it. Its just a time thing.

I have to say that looking through the categories has been rather inspiring to go out and shoot more - you know like the early days when we would shoot rocks and flowers and bees and sunsets and textures all of those clich things that you would NEVER submit these days.  I find that I am not that snap happy any more (my kids are almost photo-less!) but maybe having my own categories and no competition I may go back to shooting anything I fancy.

I have been inspired too. I have been shooting but not things that would necessarily be accepted on the sites. Not to say they are not stock-worthy, but just that the agencies already have too many or they would reject for no commercial value or whatever other reason there may be. And I can upload all the similars I want!

Isn't it great? I have terabytes of photos that never made it into agencies that I will have to go through and see what I want to sell.

Be ready to call in for a space upgrade! Hopefully we can have that amazon hosting plugin made eventually. Ok, I'm starting my two-week-detour TODAY. I do believe everyone should be relatively safe now.

Please help each other on the small quirky stuff like hosting, memory, lost-my-watermark-because-i-installed-it-in-wrong-folder kinda stuff.

So here is new download: https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock/blob/master/symbiostock.zip?raw=true

What version is this? Trying to keep up. I think the last one I installed was 1.1.9. Is there somewhere in admin that tells me that so I don't have to keep bugging? My 1.1.9 version on the themes page still says 1.1.1.  :-\

When I download I now get 1.2.1. If its not that way for you that would be really strange.

EDIT: When you update, be sure to FIRST delete the current theme (NOT the child theme).

1a: If your not using the child theme, activate the wp default theme like 2012, then delete Symbiostock theme.
1b: If you ARE using child theme, simply delete the Symbiostock  main theme.
2. Upload new version you download from github.
3. Activate it.
4. If your using child theme, reactivate that.

Be sure to log that away for people's future questions. Thats the only way I can see your not getting updated properly...if your not installing this way.

just installed latest build & worked almost fine:

http://cascoly-images.com/pix/

-- I still don't get results for searches using former category titles - eg elephants or panoramas

also my logo etc disappeared -- where is the media folder that i'm supposed to load them to?  looks like it reverted to the default symbiostock images

Use Media: Add New up in the top left hand side of the admin page. It loads images automatically into an upload folder based on the year and month. When you edit the uploaded watermark, say, you will see its URL which you paste into the Symbio config page.

searches for 'elephants' or 'panoramas'  don't work, but singulars do.
the plurals were category names but the slugs were changed to 'elephants-im' before the -images was added

when i do a search for 'nature'  i get results, even though that used to be a category name (now 'nature-images').  so looks like something to do only with category slugs that were created before the fix

====
weird, non reproducible (but has happened at least 3 times)
when I search for elephants, rather than "no results" I  sometimes get

Archives

 ← Older posts

------

then a list of recent uploads - but i never listed them as posts.  eg:

Panorama Bare winter aspens with snowshoe hikers

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Panorama Bare winter aspens with snowshoe hikers, Cordillera, Colorado, Rocky

Mountains

I looked at one of your elephant images from the category search, and I noticed that at least that one didn't have "elephants" in the keywords. If I search for "elephant" they all come up

thanks - I didn't include plurals since most sites dscourage that, so I added the plural here for testing

this may be related to some previous reports  about licensing pages, etc:

I registered on cathy's site and got a welcome email that included:
 (pwd is changed)

Welcome to cathyslifestockphotos
Login Name: cascoly
Login Password: NQ3wPsCfioAd
- Please Log In: Login Page
Customer Area: Licensing and Downloads

Welcome to cathyslifeStockPhotos.com!

click on login though and it sends me to http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/end-user-license-agreement-2/ rather than login (this probably should have been the link to the next item)

click on licensing & it goes to http://cathyslifestockphotos.com/customer-licence-and-file-management-area/   and says "oops not found"

Just checked it. I do get a page not found, but not for that link. Did you delete the page? Check the trash. If not in trash, and doesn't exist: do a theme activate/deactivate and it will recreate the page.

Also it might help to do that just to solve general issues. It will re-update the proper pages for the theme.

That was my fault...not a bug. I renamed License page and broke the link. oopsie. I did do a reinstall of the parent theme...still broken. :-(

Can you tell me how to check the trash and dump the trash? I assume you mean the site trash, not my computer trash?

If I remember correctly, searches will usually find a singular or plural keyword if you include the s in the search, but if you search for singular it won't find the plural. I might be wrong, that's just what I have always understood. So when I keyword, I always use the plurals.

Yes - you could restore it - and that might solve it. Otherwise empty the trash and the page will re-create. A post in the trash technically still exists so the theme will not make a new page for you if its still in trash.

Thanks Chico! It was not in the trash though, so I emptied it. Will see if it will recreate.

OK, I did that and the page is back. Good grief. I need a glass of wine.
