Uploaded three images via flash (the suggested ftp address was impossible), processed, title & keywords came in, images are uploaded now but nothing can be seen - only the ladybug logo.

What can be wrong...?

It says:
Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in
...artesiawellsphotography.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/rf-custom-post-functions.php on line 165

 ???

If you are using Symbiostock V 2.5.6 or higher then the upload path for ftp is = /public_html/yoursite/wp-content/plupload/uploads

Once the more technically minded people get here they might ask which version you are using and who is your host

I can only see you have one image uploaded and it does not show up - can you see them in your All Images section.

I notice you have a little smiley face at the bottom of your site, I think Leo once mentioned that this is indicative of a problem

I just did a search of the forums for an explanation of the smiley face and don't really come up with anything to help me figure out why I have a smiley face at the bottom of my home page.
What is the problem I need to fix? Anyone have a clear answer?
Thanks
Steve

edit: only see it with FF not Safari but see it on my iPad.

Looks like it might be a bug in the new 2.6.x version.

I have version 2.6.1. with child theme 0.1.0.

Swedish webhotel Binero (modern, one of the best, large space).

I have one image (Norwegian Forest Cat) uploaded now via ftp (worked now) through this path:

/artesiawellsphotography.com/public_html/wp-content/plupload/uploads

On my server it sits together with
***(FOLDER).. ---------------content here with other folders (2013)(2014)(2015) etc.
***(FOLDER)tmp
***.htaccess
***2013swnorwegianforestcat-.jpg (9,7 MB)
***upload.php

Keywords, description, title was imported perfectly into Wordpress and I could edit, publish categorize etc.

Wordpress just doesn't show the image for some reason.
My watermark is a 522 x 522 transparent png and I am wondering if the problem is somehow caused by that.

The error is still there:
Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in
...artesiawellsphotography.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/rf-custom-post-functions.php on line 165

That was me and it had to do with my hot link protection. Somehow my sites .htaccess file got messed up due to something I did. Once I fixed it by adding my site back into the file everything was ok.

/artesiawellsphotography.com/public_html/wp-content/plupload/uploads

If you "processed" the image, it should have been moved to the symbiostock_rf directory.  There should be no images in the wp-content/plupload/uploads directory after "processing".

In addition, you should have two other generated images (a thumbnail and watermarked image) in the wp-content/uploads/symbiostock_rf_content directory.

Tried to do it over again.

1. ftp upload works
2. when processing l get a blank white page with only a title: "Process images"
3. no thumbnail and no watermark images is created in the file "symbiostock_rf"
4. what is a hotlink?
5. my cat is back, but still invisible.

Now I feel like Alice in Wonderland ::)

Try doing it again, but this time take the dash (-) out of the file name.

I took out the (-) but to no avail unfortunately.
Repeating itself.

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /storage/content/55/110055/artesiawellsphotography.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/rf-custom-post-functions.php on line 165

More facts
- GD Library is used for processing (can I change that?)
- Took away my own watermark image and tried the whole process, but still the same.

4. what is a hotlink?

hotlink protection is just a method that prevents other web sites from directly linking back to an image on your website using up your sites bandwidth. The .htaccess file contains the allowed domains that can link back directly to your images.

Thanks for the hot link explanation.

And hotlinking is how the SY network is set up. I turned on hotlink protection from my cpanel one time, had issues, and got laughed at, as though I was supposed to have just been born knowing that the SY network works that way. So if you turn anything on regarding hotlinking, you may have issues with things not working correctly.*

*I may get laughed at again, because a lot has changed since that conversation, and maybe it doesn't use hotlinking any more.  :)

If your host allows/provides for it, you should use ImageMagick to process your images. There are a bunch of threads here in the Symbiostock-Technical Support section about it...you can find answers there. Look for any thread that talks about Image Processing.

Just out of curiosity...are you on a free host or a paid host?

I started out on a free host where images wouldn't process and I would get the same with thumbnails not showing and the image page not showing the image either.

Also sounds like there's a memory limit in your php.ini file.

That's interesting. I have had hotlinking setup for a long time with another site and have it enabled now for my SY site. What issues would I be having? My images show up in global searches. At least on the surface I see no issues.

I don't even really remember what issues I started having, it was a while ago. Maybe someone with more knowledge will jump in and explain it all so everyone will understand how it works.

Are you sure?  :)
Try this (and refresh if you see all images):

Here is something interesting. First image below shows the search worked for that link. It was a tab within chrome in which I was logged into my SY Site. The second image shows the search failed and I was in a new incognito chrome window. I also tried in a regular IE window and it failed.  Guess Hotlink protection will get disabled.   :-[

Thank you all

I appreciate all the help but also realize that this setup is way over my head as far as knowledge, time and motivation for right now so I am going to let it sit there for a while until I can focus on it more.

Until then, I'll be working on setting up another wordpress site and see how that goes:-)

Staying around...
