on our first trip to Turkey we visited Daphne, near Antioch, and had a great lunch on a restaurant patio overlooking the groves where the temple once stood -- still forested ravines so easy to imagine.  there are other Roman remains in the area at Samandag which has the amazing tunnel of Vespasian and some early Christian burial sites

Cascoly, that is so cool! This afternoon, I've seen several sales of Rubies of the Viper come through on Amazon. Nice to know one of them was you! This curious combination of writing historical fiction and photographing wildlife is the yin/yang passion of my life, so I really do hope you'll enjoy reading my novel. I'm working on the sequel this summer... but taking a timeout to build a SYS website. :-)

I've never been to Antioch or Dapnhe. Jealous of you for that! A small-but-important section of my novel is set there, so I think you'll get a kick out of that when you get to that part. It was the most challenging part to write (because the culture was so different), but also the part I personally like the best now.

That's good to know. I've been plugging away on my site all afternoon, having success with the SYS upload system. Still got a loooooong way to go, but there's progress to report.

OT: Yep! Read it about 20 years ago and loved it. Need to get it out again for a re-read.
