Title: the DPI confusion
Post by: niserin on October 03, 2013, 14:47
Hi,

I am building my symbiostock website and have been trying to upload a few first pictures.
Everything's fine apart from the DPI issue that may be confusing to buyers.
Let's see one of my files sizes options:

Bloggee   jpg   3.47" × 2.32" @ 72 dpi
250 × 167px   4.50
Small   jpg   13.89" × 9.26" @ 72 dpi
1000 × 667px   9.50
Medium   jpg   6.67" × 4.44" @ 300 dpi
2000 × 1333px   15.00
Large   jpg   18.72" × 12.48" @ 300 dpi
5616 × 3744px

I would like the symbiostock theme to convert all uploaded files to 300dpi, cause now it might seem to a buyer that the Small size 13.89" × 9.26" 72 dpi is bigger than Medium 6.67" × 4.44" 300 dpi.
Is there any solution for that?

Thanks!
Michal

Its an industry standard. I would like to think buyers no about DPI. All agencies offer the smaller sizes at 72 DPI, no one is going to use a small or medium size for printing.  IMO.
