Title: Twittigration?
Post by: Leo Blanchette on June 26, 2013, 14:18
See attached pole.

I was thinking of making a Symbiostock app for tweeting featured and new images at daily intervals, plus a few other symbiostock related things. Also I thought it smart to give the option to allow Symbiostock to tweet occassionally through it, showing featured sites, etc. It will allow you to interface in other ways through your site. I've done a few twitter apps in the past, so this is a few days work when I get to it.

So basically it hatches the network onto twitter.

I need to see what people's interest is, so be sure to answer pole questions. This is valuable SEO for your sites as well as the network as a whole.

If your interested, please suggest features for this as well.

I would use this but want it to be all customizable as far as turning on and off for my site, network, etc. no automation.

If my tweets help the network as a whole, i am ok with that, but i want my tweets to be about my site only. I am doing this to sell my images, helping others is secondary.

Great! Update the pole :D

Continue to give your honest feedback so we do a good job making this.

Ok - I'm gone for the day

We're already auto-tweeting blog, flickr and FAA updates @picturemojo so we would be interested in adding Symbiostock related tweets.

Eeek, don't.  Some guys are spamming every image they upload to IS - search for istockphoto.  Renders twitter pretty useless.

Yeah, thats why i was thinking it needed to be customizable, so the no. And freq of posts could be changed.

Agree with Cathy. I dont mind the occasional tweet, but I want to be able to send it myself, and be able to alter the text so I can add hashtags where I want. I answered the poll with yes a few times, but it shouldnt be the automated stuff.

Good idea bit I agree with Cathy - it needs to be customizable.

I agree on needing control -- i'd like occ'l tweets, but every day or every new image is too much.  i'd place a low priority on the app, esp'ly if it would compete with bulk edits
