Congrats!

I am hopping for similar... But, I am starting from scratch there... Didn't ever uploaded to SnapVillage due to their low position on the site list...

But, Now with CS, VS and soon iStock with no my vector images I think Veer Marketplace will be fine place to host them and sell...

It's nothing personal - Strictly business ;-)

if you do have a SV account, i suggest you do your housecleaning there. i don't know what the cutoff point is, as i am done housecleaning. now i am just selecting and editing new images for Veer.

i did housecleaning as soon Veer mentioned the transfer in process. i got rid of all my old and dead stuff, kept only the downloads, and sent my best works there. and this morning i got their notice i was selected.  so i guess my critical housecleaning paid off.

good luck Milinz.

I did nothing and received the same email :)  I was excited about SV but wont celebrate until I see some sales this time.  Hopefully they will do a better job.

Hi Perseus :)
I got the same email. I see you are a new member here. Welcome! Can you please give me a link to your portfolio on SV? I would like to take a look. It is always interesting to see the work of new people.
Best regards,
Ivan

Well enjoy the party without me.  They don't like my stuff enough I guess.  For those of you that haven't seen the "loser" email here it is.

   Dear SnapVillage Contributor,

As you may know, we are currently in the process of rolling SnapVillage into a new microstock offering, Veer Marketplace. As part of this transition, we have been reviewing all submissions on SnapVillage.

Unfortunately, based on the images you currently have on SnapVillage, we have decided not to transfer your work to Veer Marketplace. It could be that your images just need some polishing, that you chose subjects that aren't a great fit for Veer Marketplace, or that you hadnt submitted very many images.

But we do want to see your new work, so go ahead and put together a selection of your newest and best photos. We invite you to create an account at Veer Marketplace after June 8, 2009 and submit them for review. You might find it useful to browse through the images already for sale at Veer Marketplace and try to match or beat the quality. Weve posted Veer Marketplace submission guidelines to help you as well.

Your work will remain on SnapVillage and you will continue to receive any royalties owed to you once a month until we close the site later this year.

We hope to see you submit your new work to Veer Marketplace.

Thanks from the Veer Marketplace Team

*I guess spending all that time uploading 5 pictures at a time was a waste of time.  Maybe I got this because of my weaker material from when I first started, but then again, maybe not.  Oh Well.  It is what it is. ;)

Thanks, dragon_fang. Now I feel better.  ;D If they don't like your stuff, no wonder they don't like my stuff (yours is better, IMO, and definitely more stock oriented).

I think Veer is making a big mistake. It seems they are rejecting many people who they should be happy to have as contributors. Perhaps they are hoping we will submit our "newest and best" photos in June.

I don't know about others, but I feel I was owed a bit of extra consideration after having loyally been with SV from the beginning (i.e., having spent a lot of time & effort uploading to a worthless site).

I'll apply to VMP if it ever makes it into the Big 6. Otherwise, good luck and good riddance to them.

I had the same email. They just don't like my pictures, but hope to see me submit my new work to Veer Marketplace????????? I hope that soon I have more time to upload, but I don't think it will be Veer, better spent some more time on IS, DT and other sites, who do want (some) of my images. Guess I'm just a little dissapointed in Veer now

That's really strange! How they choose people? What they look for? I think you girls both have very stock worthy images. Strange....

Hmm, Whitechild, maybe they don't like girls?  ;D

They just transfer top earning accounts and hope that others will do rest of work for them. I am not planning to do anything, this deal was only interesting for me if I did not have to start from scratch again.

I was not on SV, but these rejections from established contributors sound really strange.

I have only 9 images at SV, and I never sold one.... I was hoping they will implement FTP but they didn't.....

I mean, I can say now that my username is the same everywhere and they could easily look at my other ports, but I doubt they really did it. Also, there is no reason if you ask me to include my images, and not to include images of some other photographers that are better than me.

Yep.

See, that's what really bugs me, because I painstakingly UL's many 100s of images the hard way (the SV way!). A lot of effort for nearly zero payback, and a "sorry, Charley" kick in the butt now.  ???

Yes, :( that's really weird. And now what? Your images will be deleted from SV in time??

Hi folks,

This is a really good point.

Veer's success in the macrostock world is largely due to the curated approach we take to developing image collections and brands.  Customers appreciate Veer because our selectivity has always made it easy for them to quickly find relevant images without having the dig through pages and pages of search results.

For the SV to Veer Marketplace migration, we based our selections on contributors' past sales performance and image quality.  Due to the high volume of contributors to evaluate, the sales history played an important role in making our selections.

Considering that we're pulling sales info from SnapVillage which (as we all know) hasn't exactly been a beacon for consistency in the microstock industry :) it's possible that some unselected contributors are established and talented but didn't have enough of a proven sales history in SV to be flagged for auto-migration.

If you feel that you've been overlooked, then please prove us wrong.  You just have to upload a few of your best images on June 8th and we'll take it from there.

Aaron

I was not there so I am not affected in any way but perhaps you could shine a bit more light on what sales numbers were deemed as qualifying here. That way the rejected contributors would know more about the criteria used for selection and how objective they were.

Also, how many is a few of the best images, used for application?

Great now they see that they pissed off so many people so they try to say "we have been joking". As I said somewhere before this deal was only valid for if I did not have to upload couple hundred images again. Since there was no sales there anyway I am not going to put any additional effort to this site or it's successors. Hasta la vista baby.

I might be wrong, but I read Aaron's post to mean that if you upload a few of your best and they like what they see, then they'll migrate those in your SV port they deem worthy (thus alleviating the need to re-upload 100s or 1000s of images).

I won't be here on June 8th, but I assume the offer will be good for a while after that date. If I'm correct, then perhaps I'll take him up on the offer.

Once I decided to opt out of subs on SV, my sales dropped off the proverbial cliff. I guess that's why I wasn't chosen; too few sales.

Shoot, I even had one of my images featured on their homepage for a few days, so they liked at least one of them!  ;D

They did not look at images just sales numbers I guess. Now they offer to review images.

Hi everyone,

Well, I mean that if you were not selected for auto-migration and if you believe that you'd be a successful contributor to Veer Marketplace, then we welcome you to apply to become contributor by uploading your latest and greatest images on June 8th or after.

When making selections from hundreds of thousands of images, there's always going to be some "needles in the haystack" that get missed.  By applying next month, you're putting the spotlight back on your work for us to see.  If it's great, we'll definitely notice.

So, while there are no plans for further auto-migration, if your new material really stands out we can talk about it.
