Well, I mean that if you were not selected for auto-migration and if you believe that you'd be a successful contributor to Veer Marketplace, then we welcome you to apply to become contributor by uploading your latest and greatest images on June 8th or after.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification, Aaron.

I guess I'll just leave this sad mess behind, then.  :(

So the prime criteria was sales from a site that was inconsistant at best? Why not just tranfer the ones with sales then?

I got the "welcome to Veer" email as well.  Would be cool to see the marketplace succeed.

I mean, I can say now that my username is the same everywhere and they could easily look at my other ports, but I doubt they really did it.

Maybe they did. You're not exactly setting the stock-world on fire are you? When, after several months, the size of your portfolio is waaaay bigger than your sales, with precious little likelihood of that changing any time soon, it may be a sign that your talents lie elsewhere. Based on your record you can hardly expect Veer to be 'frothing at the bit' for your port can you?
I'm totally confused. Ivan said he got the same email as Perseus, and Perseus said he was accepted. So was that wrong?

Not that it matters. I should drop these Veer threads; I'm done!  ;D

gostwyck,
Whitechild was accepted at Veer. Was the point of your post to just personally attack him?

Gostwyck,
Your comment is a typical comment of a sad person. This is not the first time you have such comments for other people. What forced you to attack me personally and to comment my talent? Your comment talks more about you than about my talent. Maybe I am not perfect photographer, but I didn't say I am perfect. Read my previous posts... I am sure you won't find a single sparkle of evil, but your post is full of it.
Try to find the real reason in you for posting such comments. When you solve the problem that bothers you, you will feel much better, trust me. ;)

With this comment I am closing this conversation with you. There are many good people here. I hope in time you will get more positive. The last thing we need here is negative energy...

what a pain, I loaded about 10 photos ages ago to Snapvillage, got one sale subcription in ages and wasn't wasting my time with them.

Then they announce change to Veer, sounds good, so I started uploading my whole portfolio 5 by 5.
I had some spare bandwidth and thought I'll give these guys a go. (I even got a $17.80 commision on one sale with the new content)
Get my portfolio on there , then I get a email saying   "not good enough"
Why were they accepted onto Snapvillage (after the plan to migrate stuff to Veer) at all if my portfolio isn't good enough ?

edited for clarity

Well you can still try and apply in June again, so all is not lost.  I also heard (or did I just imagine it) that the upload process is going to be better... here's hoping.

Some people seem to have fun in putting others down.  So sick.

sometimes we forget that Veer existed before SV was acquired, and we think SV is Veer. we have to objectively understand this is not so.
the transfer process isn't blanket BECAUSE Veer is NOT SV.

but when our ego's in place, it's difficult to be critical at our own port, esp. in cases when we "already so many dls in IS, DT, StockXpert, BigStock," etc..   i think when we use this hackneyed mentality, it's destructive against our own judgement.

and leaf's right :

Well you can still try and apply in June again, so all is not lost.

I would have liked to have "culled" my SV portfolio prior to this, but couldn't find where to do so, so my attempt to "populate" SV with photos in the beginning and have faith in a new site backfired now and I got the "we'll call you" email as well.

Sucks. Thanks Corbis and Veer. Maybe it is a "girl" thing. Kidding. No snotty replies please. I get it... take better pictures.

I really hate getting jerked around by these sites. I emailed Snapvillage right after they announced that they were moving to Veer saying I did not want to waste anymore time than I had already uploading five photos at a time if they were not going to be moved to Veer and they assured me I had nothing to worry about, then I get this email saying my images will not be moved to Veer!  >:(

...Keywords map to Veer's Controlled Vocabulary...

Did he actually say the CV word???  :o

I was rejected also. The email I received was a bit different - it suggested my port was too small. I don't remember how many images I had on SV - I had uploaded a while ago as a test to see if the site might work for me. It didn't.

I acutally see high(er) standards as a positive sign.  No matter how much marketting you do, if you don't have quality images, you won't attract buyers. Didn't SV accept everything?

I probably will give them a try in the fall.

How does Controlled Vocabulary work?

I congratulate VMP for tightening the standards on accepted images. They should think up and image exclusive scheme.

I have only 9 images at SV, and I never sold one.... I was hoping they will implement FTP but they didn't.....
Yep.

See, that's what really bugs me, because I painstakingly UL's many 100s of images the hard way (the SV way!). A lot of effort for nearly zero payback, and a "sorry, Charley" kick in the butt now.  ???

I know how you feel KB. I was with them from the start and kept uploading right up to the final few days. We all have to get used to rejections in this business and move on but to get 883 rejections in one email is devastating after all the work put in. Not even a "thank you for the time and effort you spent helping build Snapvillage from nothing" note at the end. But anyway Ivan, congratulations on getting in ( did you have your legendary Cat and Dog Having Sex photo on there? That must have swung it for you!). Good luck at Veer, Regards, David

No Newsfocus1. I didn't have that image there.

If you'd had it up, you might have gotten in even sooner.
