I have just been looking at the veer site/pics & get the feeling that they accept pics that are more on the artsy/creative side.
Would you agree, or am i off on this assumption?
Reason I'm asking is I'm trying to decide what i will upload to them. Wondering if i have a better chance getting accepted with my more artsy pics, then my standard stock pics?
thanks,
nick

Go for regular stock images. You are uploading to the Marketplace, not the regular Veer macro site. The Marketplace is not full active for a while yet.

Clivia, is there a reason that you think the goals of the micro collection would be significantly different than those of the macro collection? As a customer, Veer has always been the "go to" place when I wanted something that wasn't popping up at every other site. I would like to think that some of that will rub off on the MP collection.
I'm not saying that I'm doing more than speculating, but I'd like to think that well-done artistic images do have a chance of being added to this collection, moreso than with most other collections.
But maybe you are just recommending "playing it safe" for the application. :)

I would agree with you artistic work does have a place, and sells well, but not for an initial submission.
The OP has been looking at the Veer site, where established contributors have uploaded cutting edge stuff. There is some fantastic stuff on there.
However, he is contributing to the Marketplace, where we are not so sure what will be acceptable and what will be rejected out of hand. He should play safe to begin with, until he has been accepted.

Well, I picked up some of my best selling microstock illustrations and they've passed 10/10... So, I am sure you can do the same!
Cheers!

I agree...submit whatever you think is your best work. If they turn it down, submit something else. I've read several posts where traditional microstock images, subjects isolated on white, are being turned down in the first submission process, so playing it safe might not be the way to go. I'd show them what I can do!

yes, one heart to K.
We read how some micro sellers were not invited to transfer their SV port, while others with smaller and newer contributors are invited. So obviously this is not one that believe the "my images sell well at SS, IS,DT, FT) guarantee acceptance method".
And mentioned by someone else too, if Veer (the older more experience site) liked certain types of images, there is no reason to believe they will not be good enough for V Marketplace. The customer base comes from the older Veer, so why wouldn't they take something Veer liked?
I would use Veer as the model , as most successful organizations have a certain culture. Veer is no different.

I was not transferred from SV but I used same images from my SV application and there was no problem with acceptation on Veer. No people, just nature and landscapes.

"I'd show them what I can do!" - hard to go wrong there!
It's not that we don't want white white background studio shots - but we're definitely on the lookout for high-quality content that is unique and a good showing of what you are capable of.
(of course all submissions must play by royalty-free legal guidelines)

My first ten were all accepted. Eight of them had white backgrounds so it looks to me like quality and content are considerations.

Hi everyone & thank you for the advice!
I went the middle route, 5 on the artsy side & 5 stockish (2 or 3 were iso on wht & accepted).
I got 8 accepted out of 10.
i should say, in case someone else is also wondering. the "artsy" pics i got accepted at veer were rejected (i think) most everwhere else.
So...if art is your thing your chances are better at veer.
Thanks,
Nick
I have another question but i will start another thread.
