Many of the IS-deactivators will probably be looking for another agency to compensate lost sales.  On another thread, several MSG'ers recommended Veer.

I have just been accepted at Veer, but am still hesitating - should I really start uploading there?

Looking at the various threads on the MSG-Veer-forum, I read about issues that are not very encouraging:
- the Alamy trouble
- slow reviews and upload limits
- keywording issues
- no opt-out of PP
- and worst of all :  very bad communication with contributors

I'd be grateful if some of the experienced Veer-users could update the newcomers :

Has the Alamy issue been solved completely?  I am on Alamy and would really be annoyed if my Veer stuff would go to Alamy.

Is deleting an image only possible by contacting support, and is contacting support really such a PITA ?

Low sales and awkward uploading system.  For me, the trouble involved in uploading doesn't merit the effort. The sales potential being a bit below Bigstock (as shown in the chart on the right) matches my experience there.

Don't forget I just stopped uploading to Istock, which gives me "lots" of extra time for another awkward uploading system.  However, if uploading to Veer is not "safe" in terms of PP or automatic Alamy transfers, I will say "no thanks".

The alamy problem has been fixed.  They used to have a rep that replied to questions here but he went.  I don't care about review times, never understood why people get so annoyed about that, as long as it's the same for everyone.  If anything, I prefer long review times because it puts some people off uploading and there's less competition.

Sales aren't great but they do sell more EL's than most sites and that gives them a nice boost every now and then.  Overall, I think they're a must for anyone with lots of sales on the bigger sites.  There's good reasons not to upload to all the sites but I find that isn't the most profitable policy :)  I'm removing most of my images from istock because they have gone too far, hopefully the other sites understand that they make more by respecting the contributor/agent relationship.

I can't get the upload system to work at all at the moment. I've just stopped uploading there till later, sales aren't good so I've been trying to spend my time where it will return the most money.

Unfortunately I spend too much time reading posts here ;)

Sales come slowly at Veer, but they delivered a $3.77 RPD for me in 2012. I actually made 60% more at Veer than I did at BigStock, even with fewer sales.

Similar for me - I made 33% more at Veer with only 800+ images than I did at BigStock with twice that many.

The big problems with Veer are that they pay the standard Veer payout on partner sales - regardless of what the partner site actually charged customers - and that there is no opt out of partner sales or their lack-lustre subscriptions.

Secondarily their review system is slow and bizarre - rejecting landscapes for lack of production value or too editorial for Veer customers for example. I know which images sell from the other sites and also that their site hasn't covered the subject, but they still reject.

They've also stopped any form of communication with contributors, so I've stopped uploading - I stopped when the Alamy mess happened and never restarted.

Periodically the contributor side of the site just stops working and it is weeks before they do anything. It just doesn't feel to me as if they're serious about the business, even though I keep hoping they may do something to perk things up. With Corbis as their parent though, I don't think there's any reason for optimism.

Great!  I just lost my Veer-appetite  :(
No opt-out, no communication, slow reviews ... that's not worth a whole month of daily uploading ...

I have the opposite situation, at BS earn 5x more than Veer. I guess everyone's experiences are different.

I made 3X my BS earnings at Vr last year - funny how mileage varies.  The ELs are nice, the minimal subs aren't. The reviews can be fairly quick or take ages - I just fire and forget there. They did mess up with the Alamy thing, but then they actually fixed it.

Everyone's experiences differ, I have only good experiences with Veer. (apart from the issues mentioned above; reviews sometimes are slow, there's the PP you can't opt-out from and sub commissions often are $0,25).
They sell a lot better than BS for me, support mails are always answered swiftly, reviews are fair, two times they used one of my pics for a promotional action (included in a free bundle for new clients) and payed me a flat fee of $100 for it, after asking nicely first. Quite a contrast with whats happening somewhere else at the moment ;)

I think the biggest difference for me between Veer-BigStock has been EL sales. I get a much larger % of EL sales from Veer than I get from anywhere else, and I almost never see an EL sale from BigStock.

When I check my stats, I see that BigStock actually beats Veer in earnings 7 out of 12 months. But those big EL months for Veer more than make up for it annually. Yes, there are serious Dashboard issues. But Veer brings in money for me. 5% of total earnings last year - not bad at all.

This past year I made about twice as much from BigStock as from Veer, although both are low earners for me (3.9% and 2%, respectively).  The difference between my experience and others who do better with Veer is that I submit a lot of images; due to Veer's upload limits my port there is one third of what I have on BigStock, and about a quarter of my Shuttterstock collection.  If you submit a small number of good sellers, Veer may be a good route for your sales.

Agree.  The ELs are nice, and have even picked up more the last 90 days.
